| Quote: Dave K. "All the stats are important and dont think you can group them, metres made is the same, but Clark makes far more metres per carry (about 10 compared to Roby 5), tackles busts are also important as it means defending players have to do more work, if Clark played the full 80 like Roby then his tackle, metres etc would be miles ahead. Clark this season has been much better than Roby and deserves his place in the dream team, even the last couple of Saints fans agree.'"
But you dont know that, he might not have been able to play the game he wants and thus suffered as a consequence (aka whats happened to Roby this year in most Saints fans eyes) making less than he has now.
Most Saints fans have been beaten into pessimism by years of GF appearances, I wouldnt use them as any judge
More importantly, the debate is between 2 quality english players - it can only bode well...

Fair enough, both should be in the England 17, only good for the game to have some competition in key positions.

Roby looked flogged at the moment. Whilst even if we were spelling him, I doubt he still has [iquite[/i the zip that he did/Clarke does, but what he has developed is the best all round hooker's game in SL. I wondered whether my opinion on this was to biased, but his display against Australia last year confirmed his true quality to me.
Double pump with Clarke, for me. Crazy not to.

| 1. Hardaker (appreciate he wont get it though)
2. Makinson (try's are a wingers currency, and he has lots of them)
3. Shenton (outstanding season and great leadership)
4. Moon (Creates bundles of trys, and had a very good year....it would be Watkins if Leeds knew how to use him properly and gave him some decent ball from time to time)
5. Carney (ill be very happy if he isnt playing on Saturday)
6. Gale (this may be controversial, but he's been excellent in a very poor Bradford team every time I've seen him)
7. Walsh (Shame about the injuries, but the best 7 in the league by a country mile)
8. Huby (tough, no nonsense prop. Excellent year)
9. Clark (Impossible to leave him out.)
10. Peacock (continues to defy logic)
11. Whitehead (Genuinely surprised by how good he has been)
12. Delaney (maybe my Leeds bias coming out here, but he is so consistent and important to Leeds. Brilliant player who does all the mucky stuff that doesnt get recognition)
13. Westerman (Finally starting to look like the player i thought he would be).

I haven't seen as much of anyone this season due to one thing or the other, so I can't comment on his form, but he's a guy that I'd love at my club.

| From a completely biased Hudds point of view I'd go with Wardle at centre (just needs to tighten defensively but the whole team does) Ferres, and Larne Patrick.
The dream team doesn't seem as strong as recent years. Maybe a reward for hard work over class

I really couldn't think of a second stand-out centre . . . . .
Both Hill and Huby have been outstanding this year, I couldn't split them.
From a club perspective, Gareth Ellis has been excellent for us this year, I'd like to think he wouldn't be far away from a place in the back-row.'"

Why is Joe Wardle being included in the side 'silly'?

| Westerman shouldn't be anywhere near the Dream Team.
Very inconsistent. Some weeks good others utterly dreadful.
I'd have Manu, Bateman or Ablett before Westerman.

| How would most of these dream teams do against international competition?
They look as strong as France on a good day.
Half of the posters can not even select some spots.
If Joel Moon is one of the best Centres in England then that says plenty about the gulf between SL and the NRL, he would struggle to play first grade in the NRL.

Utter rubbish, I have seen him ever game, he has been our most consistent player, maybe apart from Ellis, he has hardly had a bad game, he has been a massive plus on a really poor season, I haven't seen a better loose forward this year.

Are you Australian or just a pratt generally?
