You as a Leeds Rhinos fan know which of our players are capable of stepping up to play in SL week in week out? It has been proven this year not many of them are, they are boys who aren't physically developed or have the right skill set to be competitive week in week out.

Signings such as Motu Tony, Steve Southern, Big Ally will give the team a little more backbone and physical presence that much is true. They are all good signings in their own right so I would urge fans of other clubs not to comment until they fully understand the impact these players will have. I would expect having a degree from Leeds Trinity such as myself would make you intelligent to understand this.

I completely understand why Wakefield have made these signings mate, to compete in the short term, every club is guilty of it.

My point (which I've tried to make on the homegrown 17 thread) is that if every club decided to get rid of their overseas players, it wouldn't devalue the competition standards as much as people think, but more teams would be competitive. Obviously one club on it's own would never take the plunge, because they would soon become uncompetitive, but if every club did it, they wouldn't (purely hypothetical I know).

Having said that, I don't want a blanket ban on overseas players. Each club should have 2 overseas 'stars' of real quality, who would add greatly to the competition. The rest of the spots should be given to the promising homegrown kids, to give England RL (or rather hopefully GB RL) every chance in the future.

I never mean to attack Wakefield (or Bradford a few pages back) on a personal level, it's the competition and it's short-sightedness as a whole.

And I'm not a Leeds fan.

But you know that he'd rather English workers get a job than overseas workers who would work just as hard.
