In this case there really isn't any reasonable argument.
No one supported Celtic Crusaders because
1. they were a terrible side
2. They tried to set up in an RU stronghold.
Sad but true

By the way, if you're still in any doubt about whether Catalans were viewed in the same way as Crusaders by similar people, I've dredged up a thread for you
Utter bollox Roy , 3/4 Widnes fans pished because they were relegated from next to bottom
The expansion of RL fails because it is either badly planned [ under funded ] or not enough people are interested , not because of the opinions of internet warriors [ I include myself in this ] , but when those internet Warriors then say " I told you so " , you cannot blame them

| Quote: Grendel "Catalancs, REALLY? Say it ain't so!
The former director of the Arsepreys would be Mike Cuddy and he is a FAR bigger p*r*i*c*k than Leighton Samuel. ABSOLUTELY loathed by everyone in Bridgend.
Samuel screwed up the Warriors by selling them to the WRU. Cuddy part funded the buy-out (along with all the Union "regional" "benefactors"icon_wink.gif on the assumption that against all WRU promises, the club would be shut down and their resources shared out amongst all the conspirators. Bridgend Ravens then became part of the Arsepreys "region" and were ignored by our new "masters" apart from harvesting all our best players. Bridgend were relegated last year.
I can tell you ocnfidently that NO RL pro club will succeed in S Wales unless Bridgend supports it. And Bridgend f*u*c*k*i*n*g HATES Jabba Cuddy.
Personally I'd like to beat Mike Cuddy to death using Leighton Samuel as a weapon.
So that's it then. The insular parochial flatcappers have won! There is NO future for RL in Wales.
With the exceptions of Dragons and Quins, the triumphant flatcappers can now comfortably walk to all away fixtures, without distrurbing the ferrets in their trousers, release their homing pigeons and walk home again before their clogs start to spark.'"
What have we won ?

I know full well any problems RL has had to face thank you very much but it still doesn't explain it's ridiculously small growth. Yes, RL has had to face many problems that others haven't but ATEOTD, it's always excuses isn't it? We would have done this, we would have done that if only it wasn't for Union or whatever. Well why did none of it work? Because the 'heartlanders' didn't like newcomers getting involved and taking away resources, a cry which still resounds today. Ever since I got into RL, I have been telling people how RL will one day rule the world and quoted the same arguments you said to me about problems developing the game but not anymore, I'm just going to enjoy it for what it is, a small game doing not too bad but with no real chance of developing.
Besides, I don't actually recall stating my views on the CC, so how do you know what I think about their inclusion? Maybe because I aren't rubbing my hands and laughing, you assume I think it was a great idea?

Can you explain what problems the 'Heartlanders' have caused Celtic?

They have caused the culture of self interest from day one.

Obviously by spending a couple of hundred pounds to spend the weekends in Bridgend in 2007/8 has made things worse

Why is it failing? Why didn't they support it? What would have been better? Who is to blame?'"
The question isn't about support, it seems to me. In terms of support they were better than Quins and on a par with Salford, in their first year. Despite losing nearly every game and clearly being uncompetitive. It's not unreasonable to assume that the support could only have grown from there, given time and a better side.
The question as to what's gone wrong seems - as always - to be far more to do with the quality of adminstration at both club and RFL level, which has once again seen our sport attracts several thousand new fans in a new area (a la Gateshead), and then screw them over royally.

Can you be a bit more specific about the problems the 'Heartlanders' have caused Celtic?
The above statement wasn't even close to an answer.

So the thoughts and words of people in Leigh,Widnes and Featherstone somehow cause people in South Wales to decide to not to attend a RL game in Bridgend ?
Incredible

| Quote: Catalancs "Have heard today that the Crusaders look like moving lock stock and barrel to Wrexham where the money man there is Geoff Moss who heads up Elegant Resorts in Chester.
Newport could not raise the cash however they are looking to play three or four games in South Wales however it stills needs Leighton Samuels to sell the shares and the problem is Wrexham are willing to take most of the debt but not pay for doing so
Two are in the frame for a new Championship 1 side in South Wales one being a former director of the Ospreys who has fallen out with them.'"
oh and which credible accurate source has this come from? Seeing as 1 there has been no official announcement. 2 the pr guy is in the states on holiday 3 mike turner or any other member of the board are not answering phone calls or responding to the fans emails? So I ask you again who told you this or are you s**t stirring again? You have no source do you? Pipe down and crawl under your rock or play in the traffic. On the link above, the Widnes MP claims Richard Lewis confirmed this is what they want to happen or will happen.

| Um no. How does the rfl wants to see a superleague team in Wrexham. And the mp saying it is his belief crusaders will move, a confirmation? It's some unheard of mp trying to score points before an election by Reading between the lines and jumping to conclusions it is in no way reliable it is a personal oppinion based on assumption.
