Quote: Electricityscape "So you've all had a taste of what the Widnes lot are like'"
not sure what you mean by that. weve also had more than a little taste of what a lot of fax supporters are like, as many of them spent most of the summer and autumn being openly hostile and insulting on the widnes borad, without ever making any factualy accurate comments.
that petition you have linked raises the following points
''Three years we were turned down due to an incomplete stadium and insufficient youth set up. In the time since then:
- We have become the Co-operative Champions (yes, we won the NR cup too. which makes us just as eligible as you, no matter what you might think)
- Become the most consistent team in our division (thats not actually true now is it?)
- Now play in a completed stadium for for Super League (so do Widnes)
- Have reinstated our academy team (when? last year? this year? and only because you had to, again look at the widnes academy)
- Improved our community structure (which could pretty much mean anything, the 'community structure' at widnes is brilliant)
- Raised attendances (slightly, and we all know your crowd against batley was made up to masssage your season average)
- Become financially stable and one of the few Clubs who creates a yearly profit. (true, but nowhere near the extent we have/do. and before anyone says it, we didnt fudge the books. its a perfectly legitimate and legal accounting practice that shows us to have a large profit, companies do it all the time)
- Improved marketing communications with our growing supporters (again no better or worse than our set up)
- Have a sponsorship portfolio that is envied by Clubs throughout the leagues'' (But not envied by us, if anything ours shopuld be 'envied')
so whilst i wish you all the best in your application. it might help if you backed it up by pointing out factors that widnes either dont beat you hands down on, or on which you are pretty much level and indistinct.
