I thought it was a tough game personally (up until midway second half). It had a playoff game feel to it.

| Wigan defended well, but yeah, the Cas backs really aren't all that, and didn't really throw that much at us considering the field position they had. We still need to improve, of course, but onwards and upwards.

Cas have got a real chance next week. Neither team will get to the Grand Final though, so whoever wins will just be "delaying the inevitable" really! I don't care how poorly Wigan played on Thursday. They still won the game and right now Saints will be absolutely terrified of them.

| If Saints don't win the Grand Final it's two seasons of failure to win anything of note despite being the best team in Super League by a country mile. Who do you think will win the Grand Final? I think Wigan will.

| I took 8/1 a couple of months ago on Wigan and I still think it’s a decent bet.

If Saints play anywhere near their best (big if I know, especially in a playoff game) then I think they’ll beat Wigan fairly comfortably. I wasn’t impressed one bit with Wigan on Thursday and for me that performance against a Saints or Salford would have seen them beaten. Still, I think a Saints vs Wigan Final is a dead cert with a Saints win, if they can hold their nerve for once. Would love to see Salford get to the final and win it, though.

I don’t think anyone at St Helens is terrified of Wigan. Are they looking over their shoulder and thinking this lot have a chance, probably. But terrified, I doubt it.
It’s still St Helens’ title to loose.
