I'd like to see them try to pinch supporters from Saints, Wire, Wigan when all three command the top spots in SL, interest has never been higher!

Well if he didn’t fund you a new stadium they might not of been a Wigan in super league at present with central park out of the picture. Now we probably have to put up with a top flight super league side from Wigan for the rest of our sorry existences thanks to Dave

The majority of the Wigan public were outraged what happened in 2006, hell did WE pay for it on here!! The previous administration were fully responsible for those decisions, thankfully they are now gone. Replaced by someone with more integrity we would like to think. However if you're going to nit-pick there have been several salary cap breakers since SL started, in addition Cas had the chances to stay up when they played Wakefield and blew it.

However, back on topic - we're talking about Sale moving into a Rugby League area and the effects on surrounding RL towns. BTW - How are the Tykes doing these days!!

The original plans were for the redevelopment of Central Park (All Seater) funded by Whelan as a Multi Use stadium.
Jack Robinson refused and planned to sell to Tesco and move the Wigan club for a few years to the Reebok in Bolton.

In essence though, yes you're correct that Wigan would have found a ground (albiet temporary) to play on until security had been found, such is the base support. Luckily Whelan at the time was having his vision and asked us to join the party.

By the way, the proposed redevelopment of Central Park looked amazing, wish they had built it.

I could see Kennedy buying the company that owns LSV and then making Leigh the tenants. That is what he did with stockport. Bought the club to get the ground
