No suprise though is just how bitter Dire fans are at our success having scooped the prize they covert most of all. We achieve their dreams.
Saints have been a pleasure to watch all season and hopefully the incoming coach can kick this side on further. I see Wigan and Salford as our main threats next season.'"
Have Salford announced any signings as there seems to be plenty on their way.
Needless to say, Hastings will be a massive, probably irreplaceable loss and with Toronto likely to spend big and be closer to the top than the bottom, Salford could be scrapping it out at the other end of the table next season.
Warrington will be in the play offs, along with Saints, Wigan, Hull, plus one other side.

| Ian Watson will have his work cut out with that half back pairing coupled with the key players going out.

If Salford can find some reasonable replacements for Hastings and Jones I think they will still be a force next season, its as though they have woken up, the players and fans have grasps that grand final achievement to kick on. They will probably overtake an average Warrington side and almost be on a par with Wigan, the important thing is that if they play a similar style to Saints then I don't see why they can't be top four again next year because I reckon Watson has gone up a notch being involved in that well earned grand final.

I think your lot have a reasonable chance of another 5th placed finish once you get your injured players back. I doubt you'd have struggled as much as you did had they been available for most of the season.

That's not started well with Brown replacing Hastings.

I also think it will be difficult to maintain the club solidarity Watson has built when so many leave/come in. I rate Watson and think our sport needs more like him so good luck to him.
I like the Atkin signing and I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Brown goes ok. Just not sure about a Lolohea / Brown combination as may not be enough pace there. One player Im surprised no-one has enquired about is Costello at Saints, he aint a world beater but he’s been solid for us and done a job when called upon. Id imagine he’d be low cost in a salary capped sport.
Glad to see the basket of deplorables and their faux controversy and righteous indignation have disappeared from this thread.

I disagree. Without Hastings Salford fall out of the top five and plummet towards relegation contention.
Toronto, if they buy well (and SBW would be an example of buying well) will have a good shot at the top five. So too will Catalans with James "Jimmy wins" Maloney guiding the team around the park. Neither Salford nor Wakefield should trouble either of those teams.

| Yes Salford are losing players but the coach is a huge influence.
Bar coote and Naqaima all the saints players in the final were at the club under cunning ham.
You can see the loss of so many players knocking Salford back a little whilst they take time to settle in, but the coach has done it once so given a couple of years Salford could be competing at the top again.

Love it, McManus and Saints are truly stuck inside your head, but you are not alone.
.
McManus tenure has seen his boyhood club master 21 trophies/titles in 23 seasons created top Academy and Ladies teams and provided a brand new rugby league purpose built stadium for this century all on a pittance compared to other millionaire club owners........................now that is what you call respect until the cesspit band wagon of social media erodes that perspective
