I think the crux is that out of all the teams in SL, wakey appear to have the worst record on player development, this despite a considerable length of time in the top division and all that goes with it. I know the ground must swallow up a chunk of cash, but surely you must be in a better position than cas, who have spent 2 spells in the lower leagues in recent years, but still have managed to bring through and retain young talent into their 1st team. Most people's perception of wakey is that they have been happy to fill their side with journeymen from overseas at the expense of developing young British talent. Even the quins, in a non RL area, are doing significantly better.

We have overseas guys. You have many more. All the guys we recruited have extensive 1st team experience FW has not. Pretending otherwise is childish.

Everybody says they would like the number of overseas players to come down to ultimately help our national team improve, but I think this thread shows why it's not happening.

this is the reason you have ended up with an average squad made up of 11 overseas players because wakefield are scared of making the hard decisions,

if you dont need one of your overseas players then you can release him/transfer list him/drop him

if you do need 11 overseas players in your 11th year of SL it is a pathetic effort

I have answered your questions as to why you cant just release someone/make it public that they wont be in the first team,not with excuses but with realistic implications of what happens if you do this.

As ever you come up with these ideas,but put very little thought into the implications of your ideas.

Please think through any future ideas you recommend.

if you have the players in reserve, if you have the players you need and you dont need the overseas players, you are perfectly able to offload them,

its natural and what teams generally do, they offload players they dont need, wakefield can do this too

unless of course they do need to have 11 overseas players in their squad to compete which is frankly a p'sspoor effort

7 overseas in the 19. Like many clubs we could not do that at the Giants - not enough non UK players.

Clearly with Scully 2 weeks away what Wakey really needed was a reserve grade NRL player.
