18000+ is a pretty great crowd....spot on atmosphere too. New Zealand were clinical, but at least PNG had a go, and the crowd really got behind them.

I don't know where you got that idea, but the tram doesn't run to the Trafford Centre. It might do by about 2020, and the plans include the line going to the port being built next to the stadium and a tram stop at the stadium.

Quite right, Leigh averaged 4500 and the lowest crowd was 3300 in thate fateful SL season.

I thought this thread was about World Cup crowds. The gate at Salford was poor. It doesn't look like they did anything to promote the game and as a result got a crowd that was lower than any of the games hosted by Championship sides (and a city where we don't have any pro RL).
Last night was a huge effort by Leeds. I was there and despite the fact that it was no-contest the atmosphere was fantastic. Looking forwarded to my trip to Hull and another big crowd today.

Absolutely agree. Would have been even better with a more even contest, but was still great.

Way things are going we should break 400k net attendance for the entire tournament which i think most people would have been delighted with before the tournament.

2nd highest RL crowd ever at the KC today (after GB-Australia in 2005) There also seemed to be a lot of students there (I make that assumption based on their age and lack of Northern accents) so you hope the games attracted some new fans along the way.
