| Quote: dally messenger "much like every other SL club which has directors loans.
why dont other SL clubs have similar stories ...'"
They do, when their finances are published, directors loans are included in the debt figure. Why should HKR be treated any different from ANY OTHER COMPANY, not just RL clubs?

| Quote: Mrs Barista "If they will never crystallise, why not waive them and reflect the adjustment in the accounts? Wigan had an amount owed to one of Lenegan's company that was written off in 2008 and disclosed as such.
Total of £1.4m thanks. They were £2.4m in 2004 but have reduced signifcantly after 5 years of profit.
Indeed, as do virtually all RL clubs. Saints do have the advantage of a £8.1m freehold asset also.'"
when you write off a debt like that you have to pay tax on it.
wigan probably did it beause the club was sold to an outside party and it was part of cleaning up the books.

To use a recently used quote, your post is "written by someone with a basic knowledge of accounting and a little else"
Either repayment MUST be made within a 12 month period or there has to be some formal agreement for deferrment, which on the basis they are still current, would not appear to be the case.
The Article concerned is about as factual as you can get. It clearly states the date the accounts relate to and accuratly quotes figure from the accounts submit to companies house.
In short, you post was a pointless waste of effort.
i put money into my company as a directors loans.
its shown as a current liability meaning in theory its payable in 12 months.
thats about as far as the newspaper researched, which is hardly.
unless the debts are owed to parties outside the club, or unless directors want their money back this story is zilch

thats not what was said above.
why would SMC owners turn down another paying tennant?
does council not want to make a better return on its asset and hence encourage more tenants?'"

Do you think there is a warehouse full of rovers fans waiting for a new stadium before they go again? rovers have done well in exploiting their SL status to grow their fan base, AND YET THEY STILL LOSE MONEY HAND OVER FIST
if KR moved just their derby game to the KC, that would be a full house rather than 12,000 at craven park ie 12,000 more fans.
12,000 more fans / 12 home games or around that is an increase in the crowd average of the club by 1000.
games against the bigger yorkshire clubs could get more than 12,000 capacity of Craven park

your guesses contain more info than was in the newspaper article.
financial statements do tell you the break up of assets and liabilities.
they come with a set of notes attached which break down the current assets / liabilities, non current assets / liabilities into their larger components

No chance.
Unless you are saying in effect it would be another Hull FC home game with Rovers fans in the North Stand. Rovers haven't the fans to fill the West Stand never mind the East and South as well.
Anyway it's not going to happen so it's a pointless discussion.

| so the other 5,000+ fans that turn up on derby day are from where? There is always pelnty of Rovers fans in teh East and South stand not to mention the neutrals that turn up for the "occasion" (who wouldn;t want to see Rovers win another derby game?)
As said its a mute point as A) Rovers fans don;t want it B) Financially it wouldn't be worth much by the time you have paid the SMC fees and lost other game day revenues and C) we'll leave plastic stadiums for plastic clubs thanks!

Not in abbreviated accounts they don't.
Why not spend a few £ on downloading the readily available accounts from Companies House, get someone to read them to you and then come back and give us all the breakdown? So far a couple of qualified accountants on the Hull board and the HDM have failed to find this breakdown information.

well newspaper articles shoudnt be based on abbreviated accounts should they?
from what i read in the link the person that wrote the article sure didnt look further than the abbreviated accounts.
as i said, its a case of poor 1st year accounting
if the paper wants a more accurate analysis they should pay me to look at them and ill write a more accurate article

The abbreviated accounts are all that's available for a company with the turnover of an RL club.
You ought to stop pretending that you know what you're talking about. It's just making you look foolish.
