| I've been looking at the developer's previous game, the AFL one. It looks absolutely shocking, there seems to be about 1/20th of the animation frames there needs to be, as if you are watching a flickpage animation.

| As much as I love RL, I just don't think it lends itself to being a video game. Soccer games are essentially Pong; move the ball from one side of the screen to the other. But RL has such different rules, in terms of the attack and defence running in two lines across the pitch, forward passes etc. Even trying to pick a camera angle that offers the best way to control the players is tricky; if you look straight on, you can't judge who is in front of whom, if you look from the touchline you can't see where the defense are.

| I'm not much of a gamer but think Rugby League 3 for the Nintendo Wii is brilliant. I'm sure if the demand was there they could have further developed the game for all consoles.

Agree with rugby league 3; the franchise mode is decent, the graphics are ok and the gameplay is good. However i cannot play with the remote which is the main point but is resolved with a game cube controller.

On the subject of the game. It looks ok but the fact it is a CONSOLE game pretty much condemns it to being simplistic in terms of game physics, with mediocre graphics.
Hope it does well though so they can bring out a full fat PC version.'"
As an Apple Mac fan of many years and rabid hater of shoddy PC's - are you telling me there is actually something PC's do well! (Not that I can argue with you because I have no interest in computer games no matter what the platform).
You live and learn

| As a hater of the closed shop tactics of "art over substance" Apple, PCs are far more versatile and popular than Apple machines, get over it.
I think they're gonna have a real problem releasing this game later this year. Not because of the game itself, but whether the SuperLeague line up will actually be accurate come the end of the season!

You actually mean cost over fit for purpose, don't make laugh with your art over substance nonsense it really is a limp argument.
I'm over it, I have a 8 year old Mac that never needs re-booting, never slows down, never gets viruses or programme clashes and still runs adequately all but the very latest software versions - I'm over it mate. You find me an 8 year old PC that can do the above, in fact find me an 8 year old PC that isn't a pile of dust and I'll be impressed.
As for the game it looks good to me but then what do I know.

Like my desktop that still ploughs away and copes with everthing I throw at it you mean? (Although admittedly I've finally got a new laptop)
Whilst I cannot deny that Apple produces good machines and there is an argument for seemless integration between devices, as a developer, the only way I can release something for that OS is if Apple say I'm allowed to. Try and do that for any other operating system, Windows, Unix, Android etc, and you can just stick it on a website available for anyone to use. And if Apple don't like the cut of your jib, they kick your apps off iTunes, and you have no comeback. You just stay with Apple and only do what they say you can do. And no, I don't have an XBox, I prefer the PS3. I know this is also a closed system, but it doesn't try and pretend to be anything other than a games machine with blu-ray player. (Yes I do realise i've pointed the gun at my foot, but I didn't pull the trigger).
Anyway, Geek Rant over, we'll never agree.
As for the game itself, if the screen shots are from in-game, it looks pretty good. What they should introduce though are regular updates for the teams as a free download. They won't do that though because it won't fit into the business model.

| Bought the last edition of this and it was awful and sold it on very quickly.Vowing never to bother again!
Looking at the footage there though it looks quite promising.Looks like they have put some thought into this one.player models look good especially NRL.Cant see Super League Ones being as acurate but as long as the game play is decent i will gladly purchase this game.

Meh, I still play the last edition despite its flaws.
I just want an improve game engine and a career mode where you sign players then i'm sold.
