| Quote: McClennan "Give over man. Flannery was MoM.'" i actually dont think he was Saints best Player, Pryce was very good i would have said he was MoM,
even though for large parts he wasnt involved, he was involved in most of what Saints did well, especially towards the end of the first half which was a very important part of the game,
Without Bailey we wouldnt have been close, he was the only forward to show up for Leeds

| Quote: The Chair Maker "The ref and touch judges were poor.
They lost control of the match and allowed it to turn into a free for all on more than one occasion.
The ref also lost count of tackles in first half which resulted in Leeds not knowing it was last tackle. From the resulting turnover Saints scored.
Sinfield spent the next five minutes in the refs face holding 4 fingers up to indicate only 4th tackle rather than 5th.
The touch judges missed numerous forward passes. Particularly from Leeds who played a very flat passing game.
A chicken Wing tackle was also missed on Gary Wheeler in the second half.'"
I think you were watching a different game to me.

probably, he was poor again,
has had a poor start to the season, he is clearly tired
i would be happy to see him rested for a month or so, we are that much better than almost all other teams bar saints it wouldnt make that much difference,

| As I intimated elsewhere, if those two teams were reffed to the same standards as "lesser" clubs, their would be scores of sinbinnings tonight

Yes as usual. If it wasn't for rules and regulations Huddersfield would have won the league after they'd secured us the Ashes. Blah, blah blah.

| Hardly what I meant and you know it, but the penalty count tonight would have been astronomical if two other clubs were involved
Besides, Huddersfield arent a "Lesser" club

What a load of tosh!
Replace Leeds with Saints at the various points in your post and guess what
it's exactly the same as you claim happened.
Take the blinkers off!

What a load of rubbish. Rules in any sport provide the boundaries which winners push at.

Saints pack won it for them, but i would still say Bailey was the best forward on the field, had Peacock, Kylie, Burgess, Ablett, etc showed up at even 80% of what Bailey did Leeds would have won, but they didnt they were dominated by the saints pack'"
Yes i agree with you he was the best forward by a mile

I didn't agree either.
Bailey is getting a lot like Morley was a few years ago. Getting renowned more for trying to cause trouble and having petty squabbles than keeping his mind on the game and doing anything constructive.
Don't get me wrong I think Morley is a lot better player than Bailey is or will be but it reminds me of the same thing happening again. Thankfully Morley has now settled down again and is playing the game hard but fair. Let's hope Bailey does the same or he will come a cropper soon enough as he isn't in the same league as Morley when it comes to hardness.

| Quote: SmokeyTA "really? i cant agree, i thought he was pretty poor to be honest
people will say that he has let it flow but refs should penalise penalties otherwise the game becomes a lottery, and i think that he let far too much go tonight you can see that in the frustration of both sets of players
i think the powers that be need to look at the ptb, its a mess at the moment
i dont know if we can blame the refs for this because it seems to happen every game now, there doesnt seem to be a consistant approach for it to be refereed, he has let plenty go but punished lesser offences which (whilst im not saying it has happened in this case because Saints have been the better team) can mean the game isnt won by the best team
at the moment that part of the game is almost universally poorly refereed,
saying that he reffed it well during a hot few minutes but he let some pretty poor stuff go'"
The biggest problem at the play the ball is that they don't.
The majority of players now don't play the ball with their foot. We are obsessed with quick play the balls and dummy half scoots.
The real hooker craftsmen are being lost to the game, players who could open up a defence with a great pass, and being replaced by the Highams and Robys of this world.
Make the players play the ball correctly or penalise them until they do.
