nah......fan club
never ceases to amaze me how personal some narrow minded fools try to get when anyone dares point out how insignificant rugby league is when compared to even tiddlywinks.
I have news for you. It doesnt make the game any less entertaining.......

| Funny. No, I know rugby league is a minority sport, I'm comfortable with that. Your list of honours though was funny, that's not at all related.

That's rich, you're the first to use demeaning and derogatory language about posters and their opinions.

| London Irish would be both pleased and confused to hear they were considered the pinnacle of Rugby Union back in 1988, especially from mid-table division 2.
Back on track, I'm torn between watching SPOTY just to see what they do (or more to the point, don't do), or avoiding it as usual.
Doubt I'll bother, haven't watched it in years and there's always iPlayer.

Pillock!
I've represented my country at sport. Not sure about you, but that's something that not many people can claim, even if it was in a made up game, designed purely to make the GAA/AFL feel that they played something other than localised hobbies.
Speaking of localised hobbies, have you seen this? There's a French version knocking about too..

The map above is where SPOTY can be watched on freeview TV. I wonder if the righteous indignation felt by residents along the red-dot highway will sway Aunties decision to ignore Slammin' Sam?

| I now have some more perspective on your posts. That'll lump you wout with the odd Internet forum obsessed crowd.
You posted the list as some proofof something, surely you didn't really believe it stood up to much, you even listed representative schools basketball!

The thing is Gutterfax you are pointing out Rugby League's lack of publicity and inner citicism as much a geographical spread of the sport.
Your map shows the top 22 teams in RU in Britain and Ireland and the top 11 in Super League. Not sure why 11, maybe there is an overlap of dots.
If you chose the top 22 you would have 3 more in Cumbria, 1 in London, 1 in Wales 2 in South Yorkshire.
Still not as wide spread as Rugby Union of course but equally we could choose the top teams in the Irish League if we wanted.
The problem is we look at these teams outside the top flight as no name teams, so how can we possibly expect the BBC to do any other.
Our crowd figures in Cumbria or Wales and London for that matter don't represent the interest in the sport from those areas. I'm sure tv coverage, whether BBC or Sky is not in the same proportion.
At the end of the day, the people who can make Rugby League a bigger sport are not in the media. It bugs me how RU have kept RL down in the past but they are not doing it now, they are just benefitting from it. Unless we find a way of pulling that back, we will always be in their shadow.

That could be anything from selling Hot Dogs at the ground to being the team Mascot.
I am surprised that the NZRU at any higher level would contract someone that also works for the NZRL, its a conflict that most businesses would not accept.
Still you know best, impressive Sporting resume by the way, mine is similar in other areas and some different Sports.

| I thought this was a topic about Sam Burgess so unless Gutterfax is an alias for SB any chance of drifting back on track?

indeed, it could be hot dogs or mascots, although it would be strange for the owner of a direct marketing company to moonlight as hot dog vendor.
no conflict of interest between the sports here.......joint ticket offers between the blues and the warriors and now talk of double headers. The ability to think outside the box and put aside imaginary differences clears the way for further profitability. narrow minded fools with chips on their shoulders, attempting to right the wrongs of decades ago do nothing but hold either sport back.

another incidence of a RL fan pouring scorn and hate onto something they have little understanding of. How surprising.
I don't knock on your door, spam your in-box, cold call, SMS or fax you unsolicitedly (well...not any more ), but I do leverage your connections and those of your friends to accentuate and increase awareness of my clients offering. I have also pushed heavily into the area of local schools and amateur clubs in a number of sports selling and being paid commission for tickets to larger scale events. We recently ploughed 6 figures back into NZ Netball off the back of sales to the Fast Five international series......played to full houses too. Shifted 7,000 NRL 9's tickets last year at a 30/70 split.....although they have cut back on the offers this year. Interesting to see if it still sells out given the price increases.

| Just seen another ridiculous play at a rugby union ruck, Nathan Hinds just falls onto a back-rower who obviously then can't get away; the back-rower then got penalised AND yellow carded, this was in the Sale v Exeter match; there was another incident at the Clermont v Munster match last week, there are too many inconsistencies in continuous live rucks, they are great in theory but don't quite work out as planned, I know people call them organised chaos, but they are too ridiculous. Obviously scrum should go. Hope we don't bring back continuous live rucks into Rugby League.
