Yes, other players have been banned for doing it, but it's died out everywhere else, there's only one club it seems to rear it's head at, repeatedly. The club that were doing it so much that the RFL changed the rules at the start of the 2014 season on it to try eradicate it, and yet, here we are again.

Thankfully we seem to be better at playing rugby than injuring people because if we do train to do it we aren't exactly very good at it otherwise there'd be no players left.

Yeah, Wigan do it that much i can't actually remember the last player we had banned for it. i think Powell once last year? as someone else said above, if we are coaching our players to injure people we are doing a poor job.

Ferres put in a crusher tackle twice in a season, including breaking a players back. Dd anyone suggest he was coached that way?

Was Chris Hill coached to injure players when he got a red and two matches? Was Westwood coached to injure players when he headbutted escare, or when he fractured blake greens eye socket, or any of the many other times he was sent off for punching?

Hull FC keep getting players banned for late hits. Are they being coached to injure the opposition?

Whether teams are being coached to tackle in this way or not is pretty irrelevant - if the discplinary does its job properly there will be no incentive to coach players to tackle in this way as they will never be available for selection.

FWIW I think Wigan absolutely WERE coached to tackle in this way when it was pretty incessant and relatively new (under Madge), I don't think they are now - I'd say it's coincidental we've seen it twice in one match but hopefully the Wigan players (and all players) take note and we see less of it.
