serious question, where is the value for any broadcaster in showing the lower leagues?

If I'd asked you of the value of showing a few blokes throwing arrows at a dartboard, watched by a load of pi55ed up fans a decade ago, you'd have said NOWT.
RL at what we consider 2nd tier level would/could be a nice little "filler" that could pick up a niche audience, sick of the razzamatazz of pro sports. I'd reckon a "joint" deal, with the clubs swapping a fee in year one in exchange for a broadcaster to produce and show games would be a fair way to test the waters.....
.....although Toronto paid to produce their own last year, gave them to sky and then sky wasn't happy to pay for them this year, so maybe not.
A Saturday afternoon game on FTA TV would be a start.

Darts isn't comparable to RL, Darts is played in pubs and homes (garages) up and down the UK, there is more TV coverage of fishing and golf than RL, two "sports" that have never interested me but have massive participation and following. RL is not popular other than with those of us brought up with it. IF Hull had had a decent football team when I was growing up I would never have been an FC supporter, but RL was the dominant sport, it was only when I moved to Liverpool I got interested in Football, I never thought I'd willingly wear red, but I have Hull FC and Liverpool FC running in my blood now. RL simply isn't commercial, the BBC would rather show athletics, and given audience figures, they are right to do so.
I wish RL had a broader audience, but fact is, it doesn't.

An even more serious question, where is the value for any broadcaster in showing SL?
I would not be surprised if this has recently been mentioned in Sky towers.

You know the answer, SL has no commercial value, hence gifting the sponsorship to Stobart previously. Look at the sponsors for Wigan, Leeds, Warrington, not one has a household name sponsor. RL has been in the shadows for a century, we enter a new decade where the light seems even further away. Our great new hope in TWP can't even play a home game for the first months of the season and all of their CC games will be away.I can guarantee you, mention TWP in a bar in Toronto and they will think you are talking little league Ice Hockey.

| I’m quite disappointed that most people’s No 1 isn’t to beat the Aussies in the ashes.

Nobody has mentioned it on here, an oddball Wakey fan with multiple accounts (a bit like you really why else would you be on our board anyway if you weren't a fan) posted on the Wakey board that I had got involved in a brawl at the Widnes game not games as you are suggesting, he doesn't know me from Adam but is convinced it was me even though I wasn't at the match, once again stephie just like you a bit of a mischief maker.
I'm interested to know if you are going to be my personal stalker, or are you just interested in any gossip you can scrape up, desperate or what

Mate, what mods? I think it’s now obvious that the mods on the VT are not just ignoring the issue they are probably in on the deal.
The VT is dead, take away the many versions of Jean then there are hardly any contributors left. Wakefield fans are fighting a rearguard but frankly why bother.
I’ll probably get moderated now

Your case should get due consideration over a few glasses of port.

| 1. A more competitive Wales international team.
2. A more competitive West Wales Raiders team.
3. More Welsh players to break through to a higher level, a la Regan Grace.
