| Quote: Dunkirk Spirit "Wakefield didn’t receive any central funding when they were promoted to super league after beating Featherstone in the playoffs. It was only the generous gesture by the other super league clubs at that time, which allowed Trinity to compete. So nothing new re Toronto, although it shows our sport in a poor light.'"
Actually it was the generous gesture of the (then) Northern Ford Premiership clubs who gave up some of their funding to subsidise Wakefield after the SL clubs denied them a share of the SL pot. Wakefield paid back that generosity by voting in favour of scrapping promotion at the first opportunity.

Apologies, I think you are correct about funding coming from the lower division, and I agree with you and also disapprove of the way some clubs voted years ago, some things never change.

| This years play-offs have thrown up the interesting possibilty that a Championship club (in this case Toulouse) having to fly across the world 3 times. Two of those will be in the space of three weeks if they qualify for the Final. I am surprised that they can afford it and would be interested to know if many SL teams could afford it. It seems that the RFL want to cover their own backs by insisting on a levy on some teams entering the Challenge Cup in case the body makes a loss and yet see nothing wrong with requiring Championship teams bankrupting themselves flying around the world.

TWP are currently paying the costs of air travel and accommodation for visiting teams. Their commitment to doing so runs out this year and I would guess that who carries the burden of those costs going forward is one of the main questions coming from SLE with regard to them being admitted should they win the GF.

| Along with the bigger financial questions being posed by reports that a number of service providers remain unpaid.

| The sport is in a bad way if top tier clubs cannot afford to fund a trip to Toronto. This shouldn't be an issue.
What would happen if a WCC was put back on the table where 3 clubs would travel to Australia? They wouldn't do it as its not affordable? That's laughable.
Its ridiculous to think or expect Toronto to pay the travelling costs for visiting SL sides. Championship I understand as they are part time but full time professional Rugby league clubs should be able to pay these costs.

Just like Bradford had no chance of beating Toulouse in Toulouse.
Remind me again, how did that match end?

It's ridiculous to fly 8,000 miles for a league fixture full stop.

I reall can't see how Super League can turn them down if they win the Championship Grand Final
People have to pay to get into a game in England

| I can’t see it happening but I hope Toulouse get promoted it would be better for the game it would give Catalans a derby and another fairly cheap jolly whereas Toronto won’t be around in a couple of years the cracks are already appearing

| I still want to know why Toronto have worn an old FC strip this season. Can we expect the black shirt with the white star next year?
