And if we get relegated then we will have been measured by our results on the pitch - under the current rules I've no problem with that, we would deserve all we get.
My point being it will not be a good thing for the sport at all, especially when we are just about to negotiate a new TV deal.

As the phrase goes, be careful what you wish for.
It's strange that in the round ball game, stadia and attendances count for little and they worry about what is taking place on the green stuff.
Football is huge and has many faults but, at least the talk is about the sport itself.
RL could learn a lot from that.
Btw, why dont you include London in your hit list ?'"
I'd already said I believe London will go down, but even so, I don't think they're quite as crap as Wakefield. Their youth production and work to promote RL in the South give them the edge. a 5 or a 6 on the scale.
Also, if a club was promoted to the premier league with a stadium as poor as Wakefield's, I'm sure it'd become as issue.

It's all relative though isn't it.
Compare turf moor to Old Trafford and the difference is far more stark than Headingley or the DW to Belle Vue.
Again, using the football analogy, the media build up the fixtures between the likes of Burnley v Man U but in our sport we dont.
Of course the top of the table clashes will always grab the headlines and football, at the top level has obscene TV revenues but, they dont try and deride their clubs and neither should we.
Again I believe that clubs like Leigh or Fev getting into SL should be welcomed just as much as London or Toronto but many, especially on this forum believe that their is a RL promised land on the other side of the Atlantic and yet, The RFL and Sky weren't brave enough to include Toronto (or Toulouse) in the top flight the last time their was a shake up of the league, which tells you all you need to know.
As I said, sport should always be about the contest

| Leigh, Toronto and Tolouse would all bring more away fans to us than Leeds have this season so not like we would miss out if Leeds went down.
However, I don’t think they will.

| Think Leeds are still very much in the doo doo with regards the real threat of relegation along with Hull KR, Wakey and possibly still Huddersfield. London are obviously also in the mix but of all the relegation contenders they have the least pressure on them as they've been the ones expected to go down before the season started. Many had them down to be relegated pretty much by the time June game around.
Wakey's slump in form at this time with few games to go is a concern and a tough run of fixtures against the current top 4 but also 2 against fellow relegation rivals.
Rovers you just wonder how much the late recall of Warringtons players affected them against Huddersfield and the knock on effect to them moving forward and again a faitly tough run of fixtures.
Leeds have enormous pressure on them to avoid the drop and the fact they are still very much in the mix with so few games left you have to say it a very real threat they face. Looking at their remaining games its a tough run in, lose to Huddersfield and it really could be disaster for them. Plus an away trip to London to the plastic pitch.
Huddersfield could be dragged right into the mix if the lose to Leeds and again have some tricky fixtures but they have 2 pts on the board plus a better pts difference currently so than all below them which is worth another point.
London have defied the odds and still right in the mix. Slightly kinder fixtures for them but 3 of them against relegation rivals. Less pressure and expectation on them which may well help.
Going to be very interesting the next few games.

| I think Leeds going down would be great for the game. The TV deal would be the same whether they're in it or not but imagine the publicity them being relegated would get and the increased exposure of the championship next season

No it wouldn’t. Their’s a reason the best supported clubs get shown the most and that’s because they bring more viewers - and that’s what interests Sky the most. Take away your biggest supported team and not thinking Sky (or sponsors who pay money to get as many eyes as possible on their product) would be bothered is wrong.

Too many people are pulling out the "SL would implode if Leeds got relegated" line which is total and utter b0ll0cks! Other teams may actually get to play on Sky for a change if Leeds went down and wouldn't be shunted to the Thu night slot (when they get televised) which further impacts crowds on the worst day of the week.
As for the earlier poster, the only people who benefit from Leeds big attendances, corporate numbers etc are Leeds. Their away support has been woeful the past couple.of seasons (yes this is coming from a Salford fan!) and there must have been less than 500 at the AJ Bell when they beat us a few months back.
Unfortunately they'll stay up though so no chance to test the "end of the world" theory.

No it wouldn’t be great for the game at all, it would be great for a few rival supporters for a bit of a laugh to them but it would not be great for SL or the Championship. Leeds have the resources to keep a SL squad together and likely dominate that league.
If you think Leeds going down wouldn’t affect the TV negotiations you’re being naive.

Who has said SL will implode? That’s a straw man.
What we are saying is a SL without Leeds is less attractive to sponsors and TV companies, and this isn’t a good thing

Rubbish. Leeds income would go down but the TV deal would be unaffected.
Irrelevant anyway as wakey or London will be relegated

If you think the northern hemisphere game revolves around Leeds you're being naive.
With their pitiful away following at the kcom in recent seasons it would barely affect my clubs income

Did the crowd numbers rise with home fans?

Maybe not Christopher but it would stop these cringeworthy missives
I think the plaice will be a bit subdued after last weeks game, but I'm hoping the lads can forget about it and put in a brilliant performance, cod knows we need one, maybe a plan could be to wind Connor up, he'll surely take the bait, hook line and sinker? we also need to tackle better than last week and that may cast a doubt in Hulls mind, we desperately need to start floating to the top end of the table.

Something fishy about that post.
