Fair point. I know I shouldn't regard Salford as Manchester but some part of my mind does. But in recognition of my error I'll now invest £5 in Liverpool RL. I'm sure it will be absolutely boss.

I'll look up the details a bit more but a few years ago you had a new bloke come in and pumped money into the club. Always liked Donny so when they were picking up the crowds and really looking on the cusp of making it I was chuffed. But then it appeared, like many before and since, that he pulled the plug. Did he just run out of money?

2008, Craig Harrison (player agent), Ellery Hanley resigned as coach on the day we got promoted after beating Oldham at Warrington.

Wow what a cockend
Funny really as Bradford Leeds Manchester London Sheffield all have much worse rates of robbery sexual offences and violent crime than Liverpool and making a joke or pun about a young lad getting shot just ain't funny or appropriate.

| First link states account doesn’t exist .
Second link states Rugby League Sex Toys ..?
Not like Koucash to cause controversy.
For those who missed the link :
Koukash to form Liverpool outfit?
He’s never one to shy away from the headlines... and now former Salford owner Marwan Koukash is hoping to tap into Liverpool’s sporting market by forming a rugby league club in the city.
Together with Liverpool-based property magnate Luke Backhouse and founder of St Helens-based businessman Andrew Mikhail, Koukash is keen to form the new side following his failed takeover attempt at Widnes Vikings, League Weekly report.

| Very shoddy journalism by the Serious About RL writer.
He should have checked his sources before releasing his article.

| Could it work in Liverpool? Who knows.
It will always be known as a football city but boxing has been huge in Liverpool for years and in cricket whenever Lancashire play County Championship games in the city at Aigburth they are always very very well attended by the locals so the interest in other sports is certainly there.

| I remember going to watch Warrington play a Liverpool side at their Alt Park ground in the 1970s. The game was stopped due to local kids throwing bricks onto the terraces and pitch from outside the ground. My advice: if there is to be a new Liverpool RL, don't locate it near a run down housing estate.

Widnes has tried for years to tap into the Liverpool market, as has St. Helens. Your issue with a footballing city/town, when they’re not watching Liverpool/Everton/tranmere, football still takes up a massive proportion of their weekend lives. If they’re not playing amateur football themselves, they’ll be watching their kids or friends play in the Ken Dodd league on a Sunday afternoon.
Be interesting like I keep saying to see how it all pans out but it’s a non starter for me.

Its was not a joke it was an observation, and as on more than one occasion a child has murdered another child in Liverpool its true is it not.

so, you are judging an entire city (and surrounding area) by a few isolated incidents, as has been said, c'end.
