It will always be known as a football city but boxing has been huge in Liverpool for years and in cricket whenever Lancashire play County Championship games in the city at Aigburth they are always very very well attended by the locals so the interest in other sports is certainly there.

I remember going to watch Warrington play a Liverpool side at their Alt Park ground in the 1970s. The game was stopped due to local kids throwing bricks onto the terraces and pitch from outside the ground. My advice: if there is to be a new Liverpool RL, don't locate it near a run down housing estate.
