| As a Wigan fan I’m not too fussed about not getting any games. The money would go in to the pockets of the new Chinese owners of the football club and whilst it’s a shame for the businesses of town, people like myself can and will get to numerous games in Leigh, Bolton, Warrington etc. I can’t wait for it all tbh. I loved 2013 and went to probably 10+ games. I’d imagine I’ll double that in 2021 if I can fit them all in.

| So. To be clear....we as fans wonder why the nations media treat us as a northern pastime and to dismiss this utter myth, we will have a World Cup with 29 of the 31 games played in Sheffield or further North........

Is warrington leigh Bolton Coventry Liverpool Manchester further North than Sheffield??
You have to place the event where your going to get the best attendances given a l it of fans will be going to as many games as possible it will be televised a well attended tournament with good viewing figures will be much more effective than half empty stadiums down south which will mainly be full of northerners anyway!!
Our best bet of getting good media exposure is to win the world Cup that will do more good than staging the odd game in in Birmingham Nottingham London etc. Secont to that it's well attended games with some great rugby league in offer the last wc was a great comp and was more competitive than ever if sedan build on that then it can only be a positive!!

I’m with you on this. I’m not too fussed, Bolton is easier to get away from than the awful saddle junction at the DW. Let’s hope for great crowds all around, tickets should be made available for sale from all clubs where a small % goes to that club as an incentive. Could say the same about future Challenge Cup Finals too. Get tickets into all amateur clubs (2-3 full coaches from each club to the semis/final would go a long way to great attendances).

| Somebody mentioned earlier about schools and amateur clubs and it’s a must. I’ve said for a while that they should be ensuring amateur games don’t clash with the big international fixtures and the clubs should be offered incentives for how many coaches they can get filled from their clubs.

Best away venue to go in SL...however, the ground is a tiny dump.

| It is brave to award games to a stadium that hasn't had planning permission even approved yet (at least according to the Allerdale council website). On there it says if planning is approved this winter the stadium could be finished by late Spring 2021.
Having worked in part on the planning/development to get the Keepmoat Stadium and seeing all the hurdles, and watching the likes of Wakefield and Cas chasing their pipedream parks, there's an awful lot of things that can happen to gobble up that few months buffer.
As I say to everyone who talks about the new grounds they're getting, you're not getting it until you're sat in a seat watching a game

They are getting a new stadium and allthough not built funds are in place and just awaiting full planning, on am sure that has been raken into account and venue will be removed if no progress is made within the timeline.

It's bad enough exposing the Wakey dump to UK audiences when Wakefield home games are televised so it would be a major embarrassment to the English game if it was exposed it to a worldwide audience if that 'ground' had been picked to host World Cup games.

You have a telly wonder where that came from.
