Difference between having Roberts playing instead of Trueman. Roberts kicks early. Trueman will attack the line. Big miss for us tonight.

| Just been a carbon copy of the GF last year.a team that know what it takes to win a big game grinding their way to victory.
Dire game though, sums up SL as a whole these days.hope the final is much better.

| So poor from Cas. Yet again, we are so poor in a big game.
The Cas players seem to think that we need to do different things in knock out rugby than we do all year (let’s be honest, we were lucky to win last year’s semi against St Helens). The number of errors due to stupid mistakes early in the tackle count, particularly in Wigan’s 20, is something we don’t see from Cas until it gets to a knock out game. Poor kicks on the first tackle, knock ons on the zero tackle and forward passes on the first tackle. We just seem to lose all composure at the most vital of times.
Again too, our best players go missing and seem to be overawed by these kind of games. I didn’t see anything from McShane or Gale, who should be directing the attack and maintaining the game-plan.
Having said that, take nothing away from Wigan. They were better in every single aspect of the game. From minute 1 to minute 80. For all Cas’ ineptitude, Wigan were excellent. Great discipline, great defence, excellent in collision and clinical in attack when they got the chance.

| Wigan know how to win . They lay on that extra second and sneak that extra yard when defending.Thaler has allowed them to do it all game. Don't think anyone could say Cas deserved the win? But wasn't a great game to watch but if you were a Wigan fan you wouldn't care.

| Did Cas complete a 'set of six' in the 2nd half ?? Don't think they did, they were lucky to get nil. Was looking forward to this game, what an anti climax !

| Pretty much went how I expected although wasn’t quite expecting a zero for Cas.
For all the complaints about too many ex-forwards coaching in SL and can’t we have more HB’s coaching. Well in the last 160 mins of playoff rugby, Powell who has been lauded for his teams play has seen his team score a mere 6 points (and they were the scruffiest 6 points in GF history with 30 secs left) whilst his opponents have racked up 38. Don’t know why people were saying Cas had learnt from last year, there was no evidence of it until they faced this fixture and you got the true answer tonight.
Fully expect Wigan to continue the Wigan/Leeds stranglehold next week in the GF and make it 11 wins out of the last 12 years between the two teams at the big boys table whilst the kiddy table looks on enviously.

Not sure it’s the coaching to be honest. I’m pretty sure Powell has not told our players to screw up on the first tackle every time we get a set on the opposition line.
The problem is we have players who can look like superstars in games that don’t matter, but lose composure when it does.
At the moment we don’t have a player who can pull us through these big games. When it’s comes to the crunch, having the likes of Sinfield, McGuire, O’Loughlin, Tomkins or Leuluai (and others in years gone by) has been the difference between winning and losing big games. We don’t have one, hence the inclination to underperform when it really matters.

I know, I am going to the game and looking forward to it, thanks.
Where were you on here last night, did you enjoy Saints v Warrington. I did, was a great game.
But the thing I don't understand is, you don't seem able to comment on it....why not love ?
You can 'dish it out' but you cannot take it. I can 'do both'...but not you.
Have you visited the Warrington forum, you have your own topic.
Consider yourself an 'F - list celebrity' !

I think this is more the issue, there are 6 games a year of importance in the Northern Hemisphere club game and the rest are filler.
