| You'd have thought there'd be some bitching about the performance of Hull or Catalans, even with a full 17, neither of them can hit a barn door from 2 inches.
Cats especially, the Codheads are injured to hell and back, the Cats have thrown away their last 3 SL games and don't look like winning another game this season, we know they can play so what do they bring to the game rolling over and conceding a 5h1t load of points game after game.
fine em and deduct points for next season for bringing the game in to disrepute.

| I’m not sure what’s more embarrassing, claiming to be “the lifeblood of the sport” but only been able to name 14 players in your match day squad, or losing to the side that only has 14 players.

Meh, it's all irrelevant frankly, at this stage. Fortunately we have Toulouse, London, New York, Toronto and Coventry who, any minute now, will bring untold millions to the UK game. I can't wait!

Indeed. Can't wait for the attendance spike next year! And the increase in sponsorship!

Fev knew they were up against it on a hot day with 1 sub , they came out committed in defence and positive and clinical in attack , the built a lead down the slope and kept us out well into the second half
Leigh were poor , terrible ball retention and pretty clueless in attack , defiantly missed young Dagger at full back , defence was all over the place
Best team won , no complaints

Should Fev still receive a points deduction despite beating Leigh today with 14 men? Serious question.

Would it be asking the same question if Toronto or Toulouse did the same? I doubt it.

Yes, having only 14 in a match day squad is a disgrace for a professional club. Maybe it’s because of shambles like this why sky sports show Championships Rugby Union but not Championship Rugby League.

[iIF[/i there was a punishment for not having 17 players, 3 of those injured would have been named who would have simply sat on the bench for 80 mins. Then all the faux outrage could have been avoided.

| Let's just add some sensibility before claiming we couldn't field 17 because of our use of DR
Martyn Ridyard - Injured
Tom Holmes - Injured and released
Chris Ulugia - Injured
Jason Walton - Injured
Richard Moore - Injured
Scott Wheeldon - Injured
Dakota Whylie - Injured
7 players that would have been in that 19 unavailable through injury but let's blame dual reg because it fits out narrative...

You've posted after the game had concluded today, but the coach should pick his best available squad, and I'm happy that he did. If Sion and James had shown their worth in training this week, then I'm sure they'd have featured today (but we'd still have been hammered).

Just to say, I wasn't dissing DR just because Fev have found themselves in this situation. Hats off to you for the win today, and I look forward to playing you again next season. My point was that DR (and the enticement of SL standard players) is negatively affecting Championship teams. You've been profoundly unlucky with your injuries (albeit some of them are historic and long term) but the facts are that if all teams had a reserve squad then fielding less than 17 players would never happen.
It costs in 5 figures for a Championship team to field a reserve team. Last I heard was £25k a year for Fax, but even if you double that, you could have a vibrant reserve league just with Championship clubs for £600k. Relatively small change for the RFL/Sky cash, and would deliver a strong and vibrant competition for the development of players outside of (or too old for) the SL academy structure.

Add in on loan Harry Newman who was on representative duty for Yorkshire Academy and that's 8

Leeds and Hull have been playing with that many injured all year. A “professional” club should still be able to field a full side.
