| Wasn't the issue Wakefield sacked them illegally as a former board member took all the money or something similar so they took the club to court ?

| So back to Caton-Brown...…..which is the point of the thread.
I hope the RFL can support him while the contract is being sorted.
Wakefield may not be able to just take him back if they have allocated that money elsewhere.
If Toronto can't pay Wakefield they shouldn't be able to play MCB, but surely he has a case there as they have stopped his source of income by breaking their contract.
Hope he sorts it out quickly.
Maybe Leeds can step in as they may need a temporary fix, or Toulouse for that matter as he would have scored their tries from kicks. If nothing else he can score tries.

Councillor Pearman disappeared to Amsterdam and claimed ill-health when the authorities tried to get him back here, to answer the allegations. He's still there.
Alleged to have disappeared with all the sponsorship money, or something.

It's not a case of "hoping" the RFL do anything.
The RFLs Operational Rules are unequivocal - a transfer is not sanctioned until payment is made.

IF Trinity have moved MCB on to free up cash elsewhere, they may not be able to take him back and if he cant play for Toronto, it leaves the player in no mans land, without a club that he could play for.
This isn't Trinity's problem but, MCB hasn't done anything wrong but could be left without a club or, any income ??

| If his new contract is not authorised by the RFL, he remains a registered Wakefield player.
Wakefield might decide to take TO to task over the fee and resultant costs, i.e. having to keep paying MCB.
Whether they would want to do that, I don't know.
I doubt either MCB or his agent are enamoured by TO at this moment.

Well then they can fork up the 10k then. Surely that isn't a problem for them?

...and as the transfer deadline has passed it should no longer be possible to register him as a TWP player....

This entire story has been created by a single post from Mark Wilson, who started a Twitter post just before the weekend with "It is my understanding that .... " Not one person, neither club, nor the player himself has said anything to confirm or deny or explain the situation. And Caton-Brown was apparently with the Wolfpack at the Shay today.
Nevertheless, the entire tinfoil brigade is out hurling accusations at Toronto in advance of anything beyond one man's "understanding". Crumbs, don't you folk have better things to do.

| Michael Carter's twitter feed says otherwise!
Someone questioned his integrity and honesty, so he called them out.
Have a look in his tweets/replies.

| Come on Brian Noble, stop crying about Toronto Globetrotters travelling costs, and get your boss to pay Wakefield Trinity the money that they owed.

Thanks for directing me to that page. Happy to stand corrected if it's true, but why would it get leaked to a local journalist instead of being dealt with directly?

| How the journo found out, I have no idea (and neither do you), but that's certainly not Carter's MO.
