Even with eight week internal club suspension, he has still been the most outstanding player of the season.
But that the RFL for you, as proved by their choice of a winner in past seasons.'"
I know the RFL deserve some stick but as has been said the players themselves picked the shortlist.

| I think Chris Hill and Daryl Clark have been every bit as good as anyone on the list all season. At times either of them look like the best player in the league, at times I watch Clark and openly say "WOW!" and not many SL players leave me saying that these days.
But you can only have three and those three have played really well in their own right. The list shouldn't be asked for or brought out until next week though.

Wrong, the players votes for the player of their choice from all the players, but is the RFL who decide on the short list which we assume is the five players with the most votes.

Because he's a little grub , man of steel is more than just the best player of the year it should also reflect the character of the person , someone like Bateman should never be associated with the name Steve Prescott

TBF Rangi Chase won it, and he's one of the dirtiest grubs going!
Honestly Bateman comes nowhere near the three in the list, and there's Hill, Gale, Ben Currie of the top of my head.

Didn't even realise they changed it a couple of years ago tbh. Just looking into it though, it isn't the RFL that chooses the 3. After the players vote there's a Man of Steel Selection Panel before a winner is determined, that gets the top 5 names down to 3. I know last year the five-man panel comprised of two current Super League players nominated by the players’ association League13, don't know who nominates them now since League13 isn't around, representatives of the broadcast and print media and a retired former Man of Steel winner.
Tbh it'd be interesting to see who the other 2 players were before the cut.

Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.

I think he bottled it with his discipline and suspension, Bateman is ultra competitive and does get into your face on and off the field. But he is way down the pecking order and its probably correct that MOS should come from the performances of Hull with the entertainment value of Cas.

| Bateman lol.
I want Ellis to win it but I think Haughton will get it. Both deserve it

| Bateman has been better than Ellis by some distance but he won't get any plaudits because one, of his suspension and two, Ellis is about 36 so seemingly everything he does is a miracle to commentators and pundits.

To be fair it is pretty outstanding. When he's 36, bateman will probably be 19 stone, smoke 40 a day and be sat in the pub all day telling everyone how great he could have been
