Yup, as far as I know the Council own the freehold.

With 3000 + season ticket sales already for next season, they are ahead of most current SL clubs, never mind the third tier.
There are all sorts of issues with travel etc in a part time league but, if this does become successful, perhaps the RFL need to borrow some of the marketing skills of their head poncho ?
However, I fully agree that the Bulls should be saved, by whatever means are necessary but, the "risk all" strategy to gain "promotion" is quite ridiculous under the current format.
Even if a Championship club somehow makes it into SL, they will still have to battle the M8's the following season and although this season has seen a shake up of sorts in the top flight, "normal service" will likely resume next season and it will be the usual contenders battling for their SL status.'"
Slightly O/T but have they actually sold that many. Last I heard they were 3000 pledges to buy season tickets.
Just looking on their site it seems you put your name down to get priority for when they come out. Still if they sell 2/3rds of that it will be an achievement.

It's sad to see Bradford's demise, but no club has a right to a place in the games hierarchy, it has to be earned on the pitch in accordance with a setup off it that supports that. Sadly there's far too few clubs in the game that seem to realise the importance of the off the field setup.
As an outsider, I can see a lot of the points Marc Green is making here, but he doesn't come across well

The general sentiment on the Bulls board is somewhat split, but I'm quite a fan of his statement. What exactly is so awful about it?

You know what there really is zero chance of? The rlToronto based Australian businessmanrl who's funding it putting his money into Bradford or any other club.
If Toronto or the RFL comes up in the context of another club's demise you know the person doing it is just touching themselves in their comfort zones.

It's not nearly as awful as some of the sh*t I've seen spouted in both Marc's and the club's direction since we lost that game on Sunday (and during the whole season, to be fair).
Yorkshire Radio even went as far as to post tweets stating the club would be in administration within the next 24 hours. They were quick to delete the tweet, presumably because it was based on nothing but pure conjecture.
So I can certainly forgive Marc for the tone of his statement. It must be incredibly frustrating to see these 'in the know' people suddenly pop up making claims without actually hearing what he has to say first.
Bradford are the only full time team in the Championship who don't have any kind of benefactor supporting them. If a statement like this is needed to remind some of our more forgetful supporters, then so be it.

I like that. From the heart but still respectful. Some could learn from that.

Sorry wrencat but if you believe that you will believe anything.
You remember a certain Trinity owner called Andrew Glover? Under his leadership we were posting average gates of 7,000 - and maybe there were that many in the ground though I doubt it - what I do know is that hardly any of them were paying full price and in many cases were paying nothing at all.
I am beyond sceptical regarding that figure - London never sold that many season tickets and it has a huge Aussie/Kiwi/Northern community whilst the population as a whole had at least heard of the game. Sport is full of con artists and our sport more than most, I hate to say this but I'll wager the club will collapse within 2 to 3 seasons tops.

Let's start with "..part time Dewsbury Rams.." - a team that beat Bradford twice this season I believe. He, and some Bradford fans, need to realise that they are no longer at the top of the RL tree and are now at the same level as the other CC clubs he seems quite eager to dismiss as being inferior.

Remember when we used to say RL's biggest asset was its fans? I'm just about old enough.
There's nothing like a factually correct statement for being open to a thousand interpretations amongst RL people. If I were you I'd take a tip from the fans of part time Featherstone Rovers, decide this was the worst thing to ever besmirch the club and then bang on about it twenty years later to fans who had nothing to do with whilst wishing their club out of existence at a time when it might actually happen.
Don't worry. It's normal behaviour and we're completely used to it. +5 points for claiming the RFL has done nothing to save any other clubs.
