I agree we need to go bigger for the 4 Nations. I'd say England-Australia at Wembley or Olympic Stadium, England-NZ at the Etihad or Old Trafford and I think Scotland are the 4th team so realistically you're looking at Hudds or Hull for that one. Then play NZ-Australia in London. Final at Old Trafford or the Etihad.

| Wales have beaten France and will lift the European Championship if they beat Ireland next week. It's a shame victory doesn't qualify them for the four nations as they are significantly stronger than Scotland. Maybe we should play Wales next year as a four nations warm up instead of France.

Yes You'd have thought the reward for winning the European Championship would be a place in the 4Nations so that the best team gets a spot...but this is Rugby League!

Reason they aren't qualifying for 4 nations is because the next one to qualify for is 2018 and that will be an pacific team seen as it alternates. 2020 is the next European qualifier so the team that wins 2018 European cup will be that team.

The next four nations is 2016 in England. Bizarrely the 2014 Euro winners qualify rather than the 2015 Euro winners.

| This series is looking very much on the money. I know people are now back seat driving and in hindsight suggesting that we should be aiming even bigger. But it's not like we've actually sold these venues out weeks in advance.
With still a few hundred left to sell for tomorrow, in say a 40,000 seater we'd be saying there are going to be alot of empty seats on show.
30,000 at Hull in the heartlands, is quite different to say 40,000 or 50,000 in a weaker base of RL support.
It's a good turn out and I've just got my tickets for Wigan, but if we want to move to bigger stadia, I'd suggest taking it step by step as we all know people both in and out of RL are quick to jump on any perceived failings. A few people not being able to book this year will certainly help to generate that impulse for people to book earlier next year.
RU managed to sell France v Romania at the Olympic park and got 50k there. When we can fill 50,000 ahead of the game day, then we can start talking about moving games to bigger venues.

Yeah they moved the 2016 euros to this year, don't know exactly why but I think it is because it was going to take place at the same time as the four nations so Scotland couldn't play in the euros. So this years champions wouldn't have been able to qualify for a tournament that was going on at the same time... even though they have now moved it if that makes sense haha Euros could take place at the same time as four nations last year because it was a pacific fourth team.
Personally I don't think it would have killed them to have the 2016 euros at the start of the year so it didn't clash instead of moving it back to this year but you know... RLIF for you...

Can't agree more, this is exactly what I say all the time.

Agree with this. I think some people are getting carried away. I think the powers that be have recognised the importance of having a presence in London which is great, and the Olympic Stadium is an ideal base for us there. It's significantly smaller than Wembley but still a national stadium.
I'd be tempted to maybe try and use somewhere like the Etihad in addition to the Olympic Stadium. I think bigger stadiums draw a bigger crowd but there's definitely a limit to that draw and we shouldn't get carried away. This has to be a gradual process. Getting our games on the BBC and a game at a national stadium in London are 2 excellent moves but we can't move too quickly yet. We have to build and establish ourselves and that takes time.

One good thing about moving to the Etihad is the transport links to the stadium. With the trams going right outside & coming from the three major train stations in the city, they're much easier to get to for fans travelling from the other side of the pennines.

| I like the sound of the Etihad being included with a London test and AN other club ground.I think we could sell these out if it was a 3 test series against Australia.

Yep.
I hope Wigan and Hull fans don't take this the wrong way because it isn't meant as a criticism, but I'm really not that bothered about going to the KC or DW. Simply because I've been there regularly and they're relatively small.
I would be a lot more tempted to go to the Etihad and the same goes for any major stadium like that. It's also still easy reach for RL fans so it means people don't have 2 expensive trips down to London.

Exactly. It feels more of an event. And the fact that the magic weekend has been away from the Etihad for a bit and it has since been improved as a ground it would hold a lot of appeal to RL fans for an international imo.
