Lol. I moved to New Zealand 10 years ago, that was part of the attraction for me.

| A few seasons ago, Wakefield signed Julian O Neil from Widnes and he got homesick, for Widnes
Assuming someone can fit Tomkins under the cap, or if there is a change in the s/c, Tomkins will be a great asset to any SL club.
Amazing how he was a world beater over here and just another player down under though.

Might give the powers that be the necessary kick up the backside to do something about the cap! Doubtful though

| He was playing in an average side, and in average sides mistakes are more costly, so he was always going to less effective in the NRL.
It's good for SL, but whoever signs him I hope they play him in the halves.

Probably. Though I think we have to be careful about just a blanket increase in the overall cap. Unfortunately the level we would need to increase it to would bankrupt most RL clubs. Better to change the rules around 'marquee' signings.
Ultimately though, until union do something about the distorting influence of the south of France, RL (and RU in Wales, Scotland, and Ireland for that matter) will find it difficult to compete.

| Part of the agreement for Samuel's breaking of his Wigan contract is that Wigan have first right of refusal if he returns to Super League.

Are you his lawyer? Have you seen said contract clause?

| Following all the hype and plaudits from the pie and pea wet brigade we find out he is missing his mummy and is set to come scurrying back home with his tail between his legs. Ah bless.

| On a more serious note.
Has Sam Tomkins stock risen whilst he's been down under or, will he come back on a reduced contract ?

It has been widely reported when he left Wigan that they had first option on his return as part of his release.
Not sure if the pre arranged fixed salary could be enforced though.

| It would be interesting if he came back and signed for someone other than Wigan, can't see it though.
Will be good to have him back in SL, here's hoping there's not a union shaped sting in the tail of this story.

Shades of Ben Jeffries here as well. Wasn't he "home-sick" then went to Bulls ?
