| Quote: the artist "looks like the original prediction of 80k was a bit optimistic as the curse of thursday rugby strikes again (outside of the hull derby)
hull v hull kr 20,507
wakefield v catalan 3,015
widnes v warrington 7,768
i can see the logic in playing thursday on a short turnaround, but its clearly at a cost of fans through the turnstiles'"
Indeed. Even 70k is not certain at this stage.

| No, the normal capacity is 12,200, the crowd today was 11,235
9676 is the wrong figure, gates were closed 30 mins before kick off

| I was listening on the radio. The Salford fans were certainly vocal.

6134 at Bradford v Halifax.
An encouraging couple of days all round, the Castleford atmosphere was great on TV.

[quote="rubber duckie":8f22o6ue]That would make Wigan strong favourites then. With Ratchford at FB and Patton with Cronk in the halves, I think we'll do very well without Sam.[/quote:8f22o6ue]: |

Just sharing the facts Jimlav!
No doubt the doom & gloomers will try and twist things or continue to focus on Wakefield's mickey poor crowd though.

Here is the first fact,
Round 8 last season was the week before the Good Friday round!
This Good Friday you have Hull derby & Wigan-Saints game contributing 17k more fans due to being played at the bigger stadiums.
Doom and gloom or just a decent level of intelligence, you come to your own conclusion.
Why would anyone look at the Wakefield attendance as some sort of barometer for the health of the league? Here you have a team performing terribly, with heaps of injuries, just had 50 put on you in the last game and against a team who bring 0 away fans! it seems to me like it is you that is trying to advance your argument by highlighting this than anyone else. A poor attendance is a poor attendance, outliers happen, move on. But by exactly the same principal, you have Wigan and Hull Fc playing at home who massage the figures to be a little higher than they otherwise would be. trying to advance your argument on the back of this is foolish.
I am not sure if you are trying to wilfully deceive or just can't grasp an understanding of the facts.

I know, so since Good Friday was round 9 we shouldn't really compare. If you want me to post those figures though i'm more than happy to... In fact, see my next post.

And I bet you're one of those that compares fixtures rather than rounds, then proclaims the game is dead because a fixture played on a warm friday last year with important points up for grabs pulled lots more than the same fixture played on a cold, wet Thursday this year...

The former. Every time, it's what this board does better than any other.

Are you new here? RLFans only focuses on ANY negative then spins and spins those negatives until the game is beyond repair and we're all doomed. Many posters do the same with positive news, a bit like you're trying to do.

None of the above, just comparing round 8 from last year with round 8 from this year.
It's what's been done on this forum for years.
