All fairly influential players'"
Replaced by Moore, Jewitt (and a fit returning Boyle who played v little last season), Moors (all 6'4" of him), Roberts and Gale.
Bar Clark, we have comparable or good enough players to replace those leaving. Ellis wasn't consistent enough and Gale has a better kicking game. Roberts is better in defence than Sneyd and is an international player.
Hauraki was alright but made quite a few mistakes and I'm looking forward to having Moors - a monster in our pack, who incidentally can also play prop.

In SL the statistical norm for normally below average teams that have an above average year is for them to regress to the mean. I see no reason that Castleford should be any different this season. That’s why I have them in my bottom four in my predictions.

Would be my preferred (ish) starting 17'"
Percival played left centre for the first half of the season and will do so again this year. He's played both in the younger ages as well and only switched to the right when they shifted Turner to first receiver. Jones is seen as a second rower at the club, quite rightly as he's never going to be a centre either. Turner and Percival are the first choice centres at the club, exactly as they were at the start of last season. Jones will be a utility back rower/cover for the centre.

| Don't think anyone's done Wire's yet so I'll give it a punt:
Russell
Evans
Atkins
Bridge
J Monas
GOB
Myler
Hill
Clark
Sims
Laithwaite
Westwood
Harrison
Subs:
Wood
Higham
Ratchford
Ben Evans
Our 17 is hard to predict though cos Ratch can slot in anywhere and not even Smith knows who's playing at halfback although we seem settled on GOB/Myler

I to am happy with this squad, I'd love to know where this lack of quality that some are banging on about is. I have helpfully bolded those who would make most SL teams whilst the rest are pretty much all experienced players and grafters at this level - the usual recipe for a top 8 contender.'"
Sammut would not be making most teams

| I'm pleased with Salford's squad for this season. Know there isn't loads of competition but is comfortably the best we've had in SL with a few more out of the first 17 that would have regulars for us in previous seasons (Morley, Adam Walne, Evalds, Walton, Hood, Caton-Brown) and some promising young forwards from the Academy and Lower Leagues. Still this is Salford so who knows.........
Think the league will be really competitive now it's down to 12. All teams capable of beating each other on the day. Wakefield look stronger than I expected but not much depth, think Cas fans on here are underestimating the impact of the players they've lost but we'll see what Powell can do (relying on perennial underachievers Jewitt and Boyle doesn't bode well although Jewitt has gig to come good eventually was sorry to see him leave the reds). Widnes have some pace but look lacking compared to others to me. Not sure how Hull's half backs will go. Leeds 1-5 is incredible but is ageing after that so be interesting to see how they get on (but I'd take an ageing peacock any day and probably sinfield too!)
Gonna be an interesting season

| I think Warrington have the best 17, but Ratchford has to play FB. I think with the addition of Clark they should romp SL.

| CATALANS DRAGONS
[iMorgan Escare,
Michael Oldfield, William Tonga, Benjamin Pomeroy, Vincent Duport,
Todd Carney
Thomas Bosc/Scott Dureau
Jason Baitieri
John Zebolon Taia, Elliot Whitehead,
Remi Casty, Ian Henderson, Louis Anderson.
[/i
InterchangeEloi Pelissier, Olivier Elima, Jeffrey Lima, Gregory Mounis[/i
ReservesJulian Bousquet, Antoni Maria, Benjamin Garcia, Damien Cardace, Matthias Pala[/i
This team, if Todd Carney stays fit for most of the season, should sew up a top 4 spot.
If Todd Carney can find his 2010 form then he is a strong contender for Man of Steel.
This team will be strong enough to ensure that no other club will "romp" Super League.

William Tonga is a centre who has played for Canterbury Bulldogs, and most recently for Parramatta Eels, as well as for Australia. He is very good, and perhaps one of the most talented centres to have played in the Super League.

Normally an above average year constitutes a team finishing 7th or 8th that finished 12th/13th the year before. Not a side finishing top four. We may regress but I doubt we'll regress 5-8 places.
