Whenever there's a thread like this, wigan fans are on it like flies on sh*t.
Incidentally, how many times will a dubious video reffing call in the last minutes deny leeds a win over wigan?
Theres was the mcguire 'drop goal grubber kick' in 2011, then obviously last year and this year.
I'm not saying those decisions were wrong (though the ref admitted as much after the 2011 incident) it's just biazare for a specific set of circumstances to keep recurring in such a small time frame.

| He had his hands on the ball until he hit the Wigan defender. If the defender wasn't there he holds on. Over and above that the second Wigan player interfered with the ball.

| loving this thread. All of you saying that wasn't a knock on at the end, stand up, walk to the nearest mirror, look yourself in the eye and say slowly, "I am an idiot."
Great game. Epic. Wigan were brutal, uncompromising and relentless - it's not often a team out-muscles and out-enthuses Leeds and those lads can be proud of the calibre of player they beat today. Wigan did to Leeds what Leeds normally do to everyone else.
Both teams pushed the limits today. For example, anyone notice Mcguire kicking Manfredi(?) after being caught on the break late on? No? Wigan were there to knock seven bells out of Leeds and that's what they did. Niggle, late shots, big hits right across the park - give me that every week, loved it every second. Peacock was awesome again despite some brutal punishment.
McIlorum was outstanding - what a work rate. Hits way above his size and weight every time. And stop yer crying, the shot on Peacock was handbags - first impact was shoulder. A couple of yellows was correct. Micky's an absolute terror in defence, no wonder he's Wane's favourite player.
Fantastic stuff and Wigan deserved it.

It probably was a knock on, but there were 3 pairs of hands involved, all flailing at the ball, the ref had to have alot of views and if you asked neutrals you would probably get mixed views, in real time it looked a try. I would say all things considered it was a dubious decision.

| when stevo and eddie both say its not a try against Wigan its usually correct as they try to make a hundred excuses to give it. It was clearly the right call.

Yep, very Tomkins'esq. I posted on your forum after the last match about how good a game it was but that Wigan were as niggly and dirty as ever, your moronic mods deleted the post. If I was to post my thoughts on there tonight your moronic mods would ban me.

You loved it because Wigan won, and were in a no lose situation before kick off, which made it sweeter with the weakened team.
Had roles been reversed, and wigan had lost narrowly to a niggly and agressive leeds team (remember, fans start beefing when bailey so much as farts, so if he'd done what dudson and McIlorum did you'd be petitioning for lethal injection) you'd be irritated.

A bad habit of Tomkins' I never liked and made me cringe. Just as McGuire's dirty side is something that's turned me against him increasingly over the years. That kick tonight was part of it.
I make no bones and have already said Wigan pushed the limits tonight, that was what they needed to do to win with so many missing and they did it well. Leeds couldn't live with it for long periods, even with that huge period of possession on Wigan's line in the 1st half which only yielded 4 points.
A Leeds fans calling Wigan 'niggly and dirty as ever', surely you see the irony in that?
Give me a game like that any day. I've not enjoyed a game as much for a while.

Think he's getting grumpy old man syndrome, not needed really as he's better than that. He'll get flattened sooner or later and turn back in to the soft cock he's always been.

2nd half was cracking when Wigan decided to actually play RL, 1st half was just a joke.
Elbows in faces, taking players out off the ball, head high shots, permanently offside, holding down....
I love a hard, intense game with a bit of biff, it's what RL's all about and don't mind losing to the better team but not like that i'm afraid.
And there's only one man to blame, the post match interviews said it all.

Ironic really when they've given 'god-like' status to the grub supposedly known as the most feared man in SL for years!
