| I think something is due to be announced early in the New Year from what I heard.
Baring in mind most SL sponsorship deals have been announced a few weeks before season kick off, can't see this one being much different.

| Quote: Asgardian13 "Yes he does. In fact, Premiere League bosses have little power themselves, and are at the mercy of majority voting by the club chairman on all significant decisions. The clever ones, like Scudamore and their very first Chief Exec, Rick Parry, have subtle management styles where they can convince the collective chairmen that policies tabled by the Chief Exec were actually thought of by the chairmen themselves. By contrast Peter Leaver, who won the best ever TV deal to date ( at the time ) by the clever ruse of hiring as consultants the two former senior Sky TV sports execs, was sacked because he did this without consulting the chairmen.
Soccer is generally boring on the field but fascinating in the machinations off it.'" Stop bringing facts into this, people want to be outraged!
What's the issue people, this isn't actually Nigel Wood's job, although naturally he is in charge of the people whose job it is so the buck does stop with him. Commercial Managers and/or Agencies will be brokering sponsorship deals.

No, but he's the public face of the RFL!

| Look once it's announced we can then start with the outrage that then next deal has not been announced.
I do like the internet but the need everyone has to be told everything when they want as opposed to when it's ready is just daft.
I'll judge how good the deal is by how good it is for the game not by the date that I want it to be announced by.
Also most people ignore the fact that it has to be voted for. So requires the chairmen to agree all this.

| I just hope the likes of Lenegan et al - who are currently looking for any opportunity going to seize power for themselves - don't try to use the approval of any title sponsorship deal as a chance to throw their weight around and make mischief with the RFL.
To present the best image to potential sponsors rugby league needs to be seen as a sport where everyone is working together for its best interests. The sort of playground squabbling we've seen from some chairmen hardly suggests a healthy place to invest and be associated with.

I,m not entirely convinced that the clubs knew the full details or facts from the RFL about the Stobart deal, it was certainly bigged up by Nigel as a different type of sponsorship worth in excess of £2 000 000, when in actual fact it turned out as a gimmicky damp squib.
Probably the superleague clubs will need some more meat on the bone before they committ to a vote in the future.

Oh absolutely. I'm sure you can back that up with loads of examples of when Gary Hetherington has demanded that the rest of the sport needs to change to suit his agenda?
How are things going under Pearson by the way? Any more of your star players seen the writing on the wall and pretended to be homesick/mentally ill yet?

Would do no good unless the clubs gave up power.
And no one gives up power free of charge or voluntarily.

| As a Wigan fan and seen Ian Lenagan's track record at Wigan since he arrived I'd far prefer him and like minded chairmen running Super League than the Chairman and CEO of the RFL also being Chairman and CEO of SL.
Ian Lenagan running your club/SL or Nigel Wood? Come on, no compariosn.
SL needs to be in partnership with the RFL not owned by them.
SKY pay their money to televise Super League so why should the RFL syphon off over a third of the money SKY pay for "admin" purposes.
Perhaps if the SKY money was paid to SL it would be administered better and we would get more for our money from the RFL than we are now.
If the likes of Bradford, London, Wakey & Cas were getting say £350k a year more they probably wouldn't have the financial probems they have now.

Errr wasn't it SL who found out they couldn't run SL by themselves and came back cap in hand to the RFL to do the administration for them?
