| 6,871 bit disappointing crowd for a RL hot bed... Beaten by Workington x 2, Wrexham, Avignon and Bristol...

| Poor effort from KR for both games.
Bit of a none event second half, hopefully PNG can raise their games against the Kiwi's. The good news is the next two games should be crackers!

| I just feel that PNG have had all thier natural RL instincts coached out of them. They were nothing like the side of 2008 or even the Four Nations side a couple years later. They used to be a joy to watch but I haven't seen it this year.

| went to the game tonight, pretty one sided and a bit of a flat atmosphere. to be honest the game should not have been held in hull, there was a game here last sunday and there's one at the kc on saturday - should have been in doncaster, or wakey, cas or featherstone - the calder area has had no games at all in this world cup and it would have been well supported

they showed a few flashes in the second half but it usually ended up with a dropped ball

Certainly one game to many. We've had two at Craven Park and have England at the KC on Saturday. Some cities haven't had a game whilst Hull will have hosted Three.

WTF has the attendance got to do with HullKR?

I know a few rovers supporters that went to the first game my grandsons were some of them and are going to the kc because they said 3 games in the city was to much

My argument as well, it was well supported by Hull KR fans, it was poorly supported by other RL fans. I assume from the same statement the poster thinks the 25k at Huddersfield were all Giants fans and no neutrals attended. I tend to agree that 3 games in one city over two weeks is too much.

I never said that. It's just it's the national sport in png, they have plenty of png born players so my inclination was for them to do well. Samoa is essentially a ized kiwi b team. The info on a fair few players all seemed to say ''born in auckland, born in wellington'' and i just find it dissapointing when a team can find so many players in the nrl and it's reserve grade with the paperwork connections and then a plucky honest team like png barely stands a chance.
The nrl and it's reserve grades are such a machine at creating quality footy players. You get enough players from there with paperwork connections, you do well.
Maybe we should just celebrate how damned popular rugby league is in australia, it's a humungous monster. It almost feels like 80% of the people who make up this world cup are australian born.

| Agree RE: Donny. For a place which is the self-proclaimed home of the only true rugby league derby - to get the smallest crowd of the tournament is pretty pathetic. However - is it true Thursday's game at Salford is doing especially poorly?

| Quote: richardviking "Agree REWhat a pathetic post.
The city of hull have hosted 3 games and so far with attendances of 7,451 and 6,871. Everyone expects 20,000+ on Saturday which means the city of hull have contributed 34,000+.
Most folks I have spoken too have indicated that they LARGE majority of those games so far are from Hull only.
As a comparison I would love to know the percentage of folks were from Hudds for the England Vs Ireland game.
I assume you think it was 24,000+.
The issue of three games in Hull is valid as it was just too much to expect one city to fill two stadiums three times to the tune of 45,000+. The fact you though it would be funny to have a cheap pop at Hull over this was unfortunately for you pathetic as I said.

How on earth do you coach someone to drop the ball?

| PNG had a poor start to the game and tbf nothing went right for them, possibly still a hangover from the France game where they put a lot in and basically threw it away by having not one bloke who could kick a ball straight. On the flipside, Samoa had huge momentum from the previous game and a lot to prove so it was always going to be uphill for PNG.
Looking at their line-up they are much weaker than Samoa, Fiji and Tonga on paper, so its no massive surprise that they got beaten quite convincingly.
