One ball says Dual Tac Technology - Super Grip the other says .........er nothing. Lets make a rock climbers shoe from each ball material, which one would be at risk from a fatality.

Then they shouldn't have made such a crap product.
As it shows in the pictures, it's longer, thinner and with less grip. As mentioned it might be fine in Union with less passing, less flat passing, less tackling, lower impact in the tackle and less use of one handed grip, but I'm not surprised players are dropping it more than the Steeden ball, which was excellent in my opinion.

I've got one with me. The difference is tricky to describe - all I can say is it feels overly hard and plasticky when inflated, and for that reason seems to lose all grip when wet. It also seems to be a slightly different shape - awkward after a lifetime of Steeden.
The Steeden, on the other hand, even when firmly inflated seems to have a softer layer of grip to it which remains fairly effective when wet.

| a lot of complaints from fans and players about the rhino ball, but credit to both teams tonight for keeping hold of the ball in terrible conditions, fc certainly learned a lesson from Wembley

i agree, i made the point because they will be forced to change it soon enough from the amount of complaints.

so its like when you have the option of the 5 quid ball in a basket in JJB or the 15 quid one? one feels like its been sprayed with a sticky but oily substance and the other just grips hard to your hand? When i first went a played union i found it difficult to pass the ball it was like an over inflated rugby ball (great for kicking).

That's a fair assessment. They just don't seem to have the quality of Steeden, whose match balls have a good sticky grip in the dry and cope well in the wet. [size(Steeden if you're reading this, I look forward to my commission payment)[/size
