As I've said in other posts if Chase is staying put why can't Cas make a public announcement and put these rumours that have been going on for weeks to bed once and for all. This would surely give the Cas players and supporters peace of mind wouldn't it? It may not be Salford that he's heading but it looks to me Cas are trying to get him off the wage bill and get the best offer possible. There's no smoke without fire.

so not exactly reserve as he was 1st choice for the opening rounds of the comp for the current champions. but Storm are sploit for choice in centres and it appears Will Chambers ( recently returned from a two yr stint with Queenslands Reds ) who seems to have taken over .

No smoke without fire and no Visa without convictions being spent, which won't be 'til something like August 2015. Unless we're planning to keep him holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy during the week, it's difficult to see how he could play for anyone but Cas.

I've read post after post about why he can't play for anyone else but it still doesn't explain why Cas can't just go public and put all these rumours to bed. If your star player is rumoured to be leaving it's surely very unsettling for everybody connected with the Castleford club.

At the Forever Reds Supporters Meeting AGM , he was careful not to mention any names " out of respect to their existing clubs " , just that ' 4 signings were over the line ' with hopefully more to come and they would be formally announced prior to the Leeds game on Aug 9th.
he mentioned 1 was a ' Salford Icon ' and 2 were currently in action in that night's Sky Game . lots of fans threw out names. though.

He's made no secret of his admiration for some of the better players plying their trade in SL and his ambition to bring as many to the club as finances allow and has presumably sounded out Chase & Dobson , Hansen , Whitehead to name but a few .

I'm inclined to sit back and wait to see who actually does arrive rather than jumping to conclusions.

I don't know the ins and outs of immigration law, but isn't it possible he could still go and play in Australia or New Zealand? Or France? Or maybe go and play union in South Africa?

It's what I heard and it's been quoted several times on the Turkey. I fully share your stance on sitting back and I'm certainly not jumping to any conclusions and getting giddy. I'm very level headed about our recruitment plans for 2014 and appreciate the difficulty Salford have right now in attracting the star names to Barton.

Probably because nobody listens and Chase has been linked with a different club every season. If we put out a statement every time it would just get silly.

I'll be very surprised if you finish top 6 next year. It's not just about recruitment, it's about strength in depth.

To finish 6th, who out of Wigan, Wire, Whinos, Hull, Giants or Saints will you finish above? Top 8 should be your short term target.

And Catalans, too much for Salford to do to make the top 6, long way from bottom.

They need to recruit massively and despite having money, it still hard to sign the quality players they need to get there, Hull found this out last year and Salford are this year.

Cant see top six, top eight I would think. It'll take time to gel, especially if you're replacing your pivots. Exciting times ahead though, and hopefully a strong manchester based team!!
