| i meant in Salfords case as their fans that i used to speak to etc were always adamant that it was the Willows holding them back and a new stadium would bring them flocking in .....obviously it hasn't.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

A new stadium owned by salford closer to the Willows would prove more successful than the SCS , just as Hilton Park provided Leigh with better financial results than the LSV , it isn't about the bricks and mortar , its the income streams that are the important bit

| Someone has to be dropped to make way for Toulouse in 2015. It will either be Salford or Castleford.
I suspect Castleford, and I hope Castleford, because their stadium situation is unacceptable after 9 years of warnings. But if Mr Koukash walks away from a sinking ship late next year, then it might be Salford.

I know you're trolling but I'll still bite as there's an element of truth to the Toulouse SL push.
Why? Why should Toulouse get in? Another home game for 12 clubs with only half a dozen visiting supporters, a lame atmosphere and almost zero club income, and another away game asking supporters to fork out hundreds to go and watch. Yet another forced artificial team full of second-rate journeymen Aussies no-one gives a sh*t about. Haven't we learnt this lesson yet?
Yes, it would mean a nice derby for Catalans but at a cost to everyone else. If we have to, get rid of London, that other artificial team full of Aussie journeymen. At least other SL clubs won't feel the pinch as much.
Otherwise, take your Toulouse and shove it. We need income and interest at SL games, and even if Salford only bring 500, that's a few grand more in club income than Toulouse will bring, more fans engaged in supporting their team, and the game itself is more of a draw. The game in the heartlands needs strengthening rather than forcing more weak expansion clubs yet again. Get the wavering heartlands thriving and then invest elsewhere.
Oh, and it won't be Salford who leave SL. With their new backer they have a very promising future and Nigel Wood's involvement in the Koukash takeover guarantees they'll remain.

JESUS FUCKING WEPT....
average "away" attendance is between 350-750 fans...let's go top end with 20 notes a ticket at another score spent on "fun stuff' like beer....that's 30k in lost revenue.
London Broncos, one of the worst run clubs (if not THE worst) turn over 4 million.....so basically, away fans attending games at other stadiums account for less than 1% of clubs turn over.
The smokescreen laid by the CEO's who are struggling to carry on propping up their clubs is bollox ....Away fans = minor losses.......
Clubs in SL have a responsibility to fill their own stadiums....they shouldn't rely on anyone else to do it for them.

This. Leigh had around 2200 fans for a run of years, them hit their problems and had a pre season of no preparation, no season ticket sales and our crowds tumbled. Now we can't get those fans back.
Rather than trying to sign Sam Tomkins and Rangi Chase they should take a hit on ticket prices and get bums on seats.

And they looked a bit old , like Angus Young without the Guitar ...
KR have a great away support, love their club and support them when the matches are played at a logical time
Any credibility this topic might have had evaporated with your affiliation.
The new CEO is under no illusion as to the task ahead of him to rebuild the image of the club & market it effectively to the Salford & Manchester conurbation , and the emphasis is on the pitch as much as the facilities, but I digress for this isn't a topic worthy of actual common sense .
I think most True RL fans would wish us well and look forward to Salford being a much more competitive operation in the future
personally I would have held back until after Friday when London's massive away support causes havoc with our road & parking arrangements .

Far be it from me to say something positive about our neighbours but their travelling support (and ours) is as good as any in the league and is certainly better than yours.

Rattled Much? There are extenuating circumstances as to why the crowd was low. Yes it was disappointingly low but given the (lack of) pre-season, three defeats in a row of 40+ scores amongst other things. It's disappointing but not surprising.
The club is going through a massive upheaval at the moment, good things are happening.
So enjoy your little troll moment we are a team where the only direction is up.

If you think £30k every fortnight is a sum SL clubs can afford to sniff at, you're in cloud cuckoo land. Especially when you think that adds up to almost £400k a season. That's a couple of players' wages. Yes, clubs have a responsibility to fill their own stadiums. I don't believe I said otherwise. But that's a little difficult when you're asking fans to travel from France (or London) every other week.
London is the club I feel the least for. It's a forced entity with no tradition or history to speak of, no foundations in any community, a relatively non-existent fan base and a squad of journeymen. When most other teams play one another, you have two communities and generations of fans with vested interests and a rivalry built on decades of past games and memories. Yes, London has had a few rare moments in the limelight, but nothing to really shout about.
And what about the fans? I go to a game primarily for the game itself, the event and the social element - but I also go to get a buzz off the atmosphere, enjoy the rivalry, the noise, the songs, etc. When London and Catalans come to town there's none of that. The atmosphere is flat - in fact Wigan even close the North Stand. The more I attend these flat games the more I question whether I want to pay for petrol, a couple of tickets and refreshments for such a non-event and increasingly I don't.
I've always been pro-London whilst being fervently against shoving more forced and groundless teams into SL in the name of expansion. Unfortunately year on year I'm increasingly looking at London and wondering, "what's the point?" - and I can't find an answer.
