| Quote: Dougy "Tbf Salford's ground is about a mile away from the biggest club, in the biggest league, in the biggest sport in the world.
And apart from Buenos Aires, the 30 mile radius around Manchester has more professional football clubs that anywhere else in the world.'"
But Sale are averaging 7,000 in the same stadium as Salford. TBF, Salford need to do some serious marketing and find some seriously cashed up investors. A good team there should be able to push for a 10,000 average.

Alex Murphy 2011: |
|
| Quote: Wellsy13 "
Depends what you consider the most important for "success". Wigan and Saints have a bit of a monopoly on the trophies over the last few years. Only Bradford and Leeds recently have challenged that.'"
SUPERLEAGUE CHAMPIONS;
2012; LEEDS
2011 LEEDS
2010 WIGAN
2009 LEEDS
2008 LEEDS
2007 LEEDS
No monopoly on being Champions there then !
HIGHEST HOME AVERAGE ATTENDANCE ACROSS SUPERLEAGUE 1995-2012
LEEDS RHINOS
HIGHEST AVERAGE ATTENDANCE FOR ONE SEASON
LEEDS RHINOS (2007) 17,516.
Have a nice day Wellsy
Leeds Rhinos, number 1 in Yorkshire, number 1 in Rugby League.

To be honest Wellsy was more expansive and talking trophies. Rugby League is more than the Superleague Champions.
In the superleague era don,t ignore the League Leaders, Challenge Cup achievements you seem to have ignored these and the first 10 years of superleague.
St Helens I think have won something like 19 trophies in the superleague era, probably Leeds have only achieved half of that albeit most of it in the last 6 years.
So to call Leeds No 1 in rugby league is a selective one. The yardstick for No 1 in rugby league for a season for example is to win the Challenge Cup, League Leaders and Superleague all in the same season. 2 clubs have achieved this No 1 in rugby league dominance and Leeds is none of these 2.

Just remind me what St Helens have won in the last three years again old lad. Before we know it we'll have Hunslet fans banging on about when they won all 4 trophies. Leeds are the biggest club in Rugby League, just ask Alex Murphy, one of your own.

OK, lets put it another way when was the last time Leeds won the Challenge Cup, League Leaders, Superleague in the same season and the World Cup Champions following it. That is what I call Rugby League dominance as opposed to Superleague dominance.
Yes, Leeds are the biggest club in rugby league for winning superleague whichever format is thrown at them, we cannot dispute that. But rugby league is more than that in the professional era of the past, present or future.
Also does it matter when a club achieves success it doesn't devalue. Its likes saying a club who has won the 1st 7 years of superleague has lesser value than a club who have won it the last 6 years.

| Yorkshire teams this season have won the SL championship, the WCC, the Championship title, the Championship 1 title and League leaders shield and provided both finalists for the National Rail Cup. We also has the Championship league leaders shkield winners. For this season, at least, Yorkshire are the biggest RL region.

| The lack of any good football in the Yorkshire region is probably a good reason for there being more interest and pride in Yorkshire RL.
Outside of Wigan, St Helens, Warrington and Widnes, interest in Rugby League is pretty much non-existant west of the Pennines, which isn't helped by having 4 of the most famous and successful English football clubs in the area.
RL in the Manchester area for example is dying on its , a combination of poor sides, successful football clubs and also a huge change in the ethnic set up of those communities.
