I was once told that a survey had been done to see what type of people should be targeted by rugby league advertising. It turned out that the female market should be targeted; did the rugby league just ignore this and go on their merry way because they know best? Or did another company offer more money than Stobart and the rugby league felt it was wrong to accept anything more than free for their product? I could put some banners up around where I live in Canada advertising super league. This would help with expanding the game and potentially, (the way sporting TV rights are sold in North America) is worth 100's of millions of pounds. That’s better than Stobarts offer. Super League sponsored by Always Travelling.

Got to disagree. I don't think it has anything to do with being an international sport. NFL and AFL are leagues that don't host an international sport. You don't even need to look outside our own sport in fact... NRL commands billions.

Different kettle of fish, our sport isn,t our national game. We need to attract global sponsors through our international game.. As starbug is implying we can,t compete with the premier league domestically as far as sponsors go.

Indeed, it isn't simple...but, one thing I know is that if I was considering sponsoring RL and owned a major brand, I wouldn't, after watching and reading Nigel Wood's spoutings, feel any confidence that my brand was in safe hands.

The ones at the DW aren't Elonex. They are privately installed by DW. There were no Elonex adverts running on them though, as far as I noticed. There were some old-style wooden Elonex adverts around the ground, but I presume these are already pre-paid, otherwise they'd be down or covered up.
