| Has to be agar. Doubt any coach anywhere near as bad has had almost 4 years of full salary cap yet failed so abysmally

| McNamara surely. Took over Nobles WCC 2006 winning, dominant Bradford team and in a few years turned them into.. well... a shower.

I still believe we would have stayed up with Mercer in charge if he had taken over a little sooner. I seem to remember he moved Paul Mellor to the wing and that paid off (Steadman had been using him in the second row ) He also signed a few players and we had a few decent wins towards the end of the season.
I can remember a quote from Mercer though along the lines of 'This team wont go down as long as im here if it does im going to be selling ice creams.' Wonder how the ice cream business is going for Gary...

It was pretty much out of his hands, his squad was mostly academy players that weren't ready for SL.

We finished 8th in 2001, 6th in 2002, 8th in 2003 and then the start of 2004 is when it all went wrong. Signing players like Greenhill, Ryan, Sheridan and Newlove didnt help though.

| Millward's spell at Wigan, he was close to knocking the final nail in the coffin before we got rid of him.

| Millward at Wigan & so far Cas
Who was the London coach who always used to thank God in all his interviews? Back in the Gill/Retchless days he didn't last very long.

| Quote: miscreant "How very selective. But forget all about 2008 when Agar took Hull to Wembley with a gutsy away win at Bradford and a semi-final defeat of a decent Wakefield side coached by Saint John Kear ?

That's two games out of three and a half years.
Agar was a disaster at Hull for the reasons already stated. His win record against Wigan/Leeds/Saints/Warrington was something like five from thirty. His win record agaisnt Leeds was none from ten.
Not to mention his appalling record in bringing younsters through.

| For Leeds, Dean Lance is a bad call - he still managed to take Leeds to a CC final, and instigated (at that point) the club's longest winning run in SL. Unfortunately this was sandwiched by longish losing runs at the beginning and end of the season, but he's not the worst coach in SL by any yardstick.
Similarly Brian Mac took Leeds to a CC final which no-one gave us a hope in hell for and only narrowly lost, as well as picking up the SL title from 5th and the WCC. His team is just rubbish in the regular rounds.
My pick would be Steve McNamara - so many seasons of mediocrity for Bradford despite having a full cap at his disposal for most of them (according to Peter Hood at least!). Made some of the most appalling signings and selections I have seen from a coach. He has different pressures as England coach and hasn't been as bad as I thought he would be, but then again it is an easy job as no-one really expects him to do anything either.

nope he was very good for us, yes he took us down but we improved massively over the season and went to last game of season, he then brought us straight back up without losing a game, then took us to a creditable 8th place beating the then champions saints, leeds and wigan along the way.
I would say rob powell has been out of his depth at london and would get my vote.

| Quote: Odem "At the moment it has to be either Powell or Mcdermott. They both have good squads which should be much higher than they are now.'"
I still say Powell is the worst, but Mac has systematically buggered Leeds over the same time scales......but his win ratio in regular season games is way better than Powell and leeds are on an average +5 in every game as against Powells 19% and -14 points

Look at the players Brian Mac has though!
They could have no coach and still be a mid table team. That shows how shocking the bottom half of super league is.

Good Point...they had no coach last year and did OK
When he went to Leeds, most London fans predicted he'd do OK with someone elses squad but get progressively worse with his own....
London, 9th, 9th with a squad mainly inherited.....then 11th 13th & 12th.
Can't fault his enthusiasm and passion as well as his motivational abilities......it's just that he's not a very good coach.
Powell on the other hand, has not 1 redeeming feature.
