| The real question here is about how good Leeds are this season.
There is no doubt that Wigan are right on top of their game and credit them for that, but Leeds are not anywhere near the top of their game, although the will become stronger later in the season.
Also, nothing is won in June, its just 2 points and as Warrington found out last season finishing top counts for little.

| Wigan playing ace at moment but all it takes is a one off game that can change their flow of the season. There could well be a "what happend to Wigan" or "Are Wigan the Man utd of rugby league" thread come end of season.

| IMO there's just a wee bit of a discrepancy between being the best in Europe for a limited period in a game played in a handful of countries and being the best in the world for many years in a game played almost universally.
I'd like to thank the op though. I was pretty down about last night until the title of this thread made me chuckle.

Real Madrid and Warrington Wolves, there is a link - both have a smug, arrogant coach who thinks his squad is better than what they actually are.

The difference being Mourinho is the best manager in football, Smith is not the best coach in rugby.
I'd say the Madrid team is under rated too, people bang on about Barca all the time, Madrid were the ones who won the league.

| Quote: FIOS "You can just smell the desperation and wishfull thinking of people comparing us to Warrington of Last year
Yeah, if you haven't got a point or a valid observation just make one up, mega lolz! I haven't seen a single Leeds fan defend our atrocious form using last years end of season heroics, and I don't believe there are any Rhinos out there who are happy with the situation at the minute our confident we can recover from it. It's good that you make yourself laugh though.
A for fans comparing you to Wire last year being desperation? I give you wigan of last year. Remind me, how did you get on against Warrington in the final? I can only assume that you're just over excited about the new trophy given out for doing well halfway through the season, The Cretins Cup? Congratulations, you won.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| I'd say this Wigan side is way better than Barcelona. They're more like a fantasy side that's never existed consisting of the all time greats of Argentina, Brazil and Italy combined into one unbelievably awesome side....that beat a s**te Leeds side with a bad coach.
Oh and Tomkins is lightweight, can't catch a bomb and lacks discipline. Not fit to lace Slater's boots.

| Really what I should have said was that Wigan 2012 remind me of Barcelona in 2008-2011 in terms of wanting to watch them at every oppotunity because its witnessing something special.
Warrington were unlucky last season in the fact that they were the first team to finish top and not get a 2nd chance in a semi final. Think Leeds in 2004 when they where embarking on thier first title for generations. They got a 2nd chance when they lost their semi final and made up for it by winning the comp. Wire never got that. Another example of the why the top 8 system gives less advantage to the top team.

| Quote: Dougy "Not just winning but doing it with a style that I've never seen before. They manage to keep the intensity the entire game. You just want to watch them play again soon as the game is finished. When Sam Tomkins picks up the ball its like he's 14 and the rest of the pitch are 10 year olds. Fantastic
Well done Wigan
