I'd imagine it may increase casual sky viewers.
Someone sees wayne rooney raving about it, decides to watch a game on sky, kinda likes it, watches it when they can.

BARB ratings pretty much indicate this, I suspect a lot of football supporters particularly in the north west and to a lesser degree in West Yorkshire will have RL as their second sport that would most likely be the case with or without twitterings of high profile football players. Look at the BARB ratings when football is on, no other sport is so adversely affected in this way. |

I think you will find that at least half of the Australian Football Players follow and like League and half of the Australian Cricketers do as well, pretty well half or more of Australians do.
