[quote:1pqtnbtj]Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.[/quote:1pqtnbtj] Kevin Sinfield:982.jpg

Quote: Odem "Should be another good year at Wigan, the marketing team are doing some good stuff as usual.

First game you can bring a friend for free with a season ticket, this is against Hudds. Expecting 18-19k.
Second game against Leeds could reach 17k.
Game against Wire will be around 20k again due to the raised profile of that game.
We will have the 'Big one 4' which will have tv adverts etc. promoting the game, sure to be over 20k
Finally we'll have a game which will involve selling the North stand to local businesses, this has brought in 19k the last 2 years.
Saints game won't be as big as last season though. Sell-out last year but the game this season is the last of the regular season, the crowd will take a huge knock unless we need to win to lift the shield of get in the play-offs (god forbid).
Finally we will have one game linked to the Wigan festival of rugby where the thousands of kids competiting will all get offered tickets, this usually puts quite a few on the gate as well.

Will have sold well over 10,000 season tickets before the start of the season. The figure given on the e-ticketing system (which people have been quoting from) does not include the 700+ hospitality seats in the west stand, they are not shown on the system, there is a huge gap where these seats usually are, along with the boxes etc. adding all of these in will give a number around 10,500+ I reckon.'"

Those are all fantastic initiatives and Wigan and should be applauded.

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39110.jpg

Other than the TV advert none of it costs the earth. The typical Salford excuse of 'we don't have the money to do it' just doesn't cut it IMO.

If we had a bit more money, we could get a better marketing team and maybe do some things like Wigan. Saying that, they've done alright for the first game after today's announcement, hope it's not all our eggs in one basket though. We've probably got more competition (as in other forms of entertainment in general, plus football of course) in the surrounding area than anyone, barring London. Coupled with 30+ years of pretty much dross on the field, we're never going to have great crowds.

Cas have today announced on their Facebook page that they have sold 400 more than the previous year's figures. Given we usually sell 3.5k, this is very positive news.

Quote: Roofaldo "Well the Bulls have been pushing new ideas to turn round the falling crowd numbers they were having. There's been the usual nay sayers about the pledge schemes, but their negative response to the pledge scheme doesn't change the fact that for 2 consecutive years the Bulls have a guaranteed 10k tickets sold for every home game.'"

Perversely, because of the bargain price of the Bulls seasonticket, fans are more likely to pick and choose their games to attend as they won't feel as though they've lost out financially by missing a game. I also know of some bulls fans that can only make a few of the games but still find it worthwhile financially to get a seasonticket.

For the same reason, the 'walk up' at Odsal is gonna be lower than other clubs as a higher percentage of home fans will have bought a season ticket.

I've not got a Cas season ticket due to not having £195 spare at the end of last year and the likelihood I'll miss enough games to make it more economic to pay on the gate. Had seasontickets been offered at Cas for the same price as the Bulls fans paid I'd have snapped one up!

Well it seems the Bulls have thought of that and offered 6 and 7 game passes at reduced prices. I can't find the link at the minute, but I think the 7 game pass is cheaper but you have to specify which games you're attending and the 6 game one is more expensive but you can just turn up for any 6 games that take your fancy.

The report from Wigan's website suggests they are on for 11,000 season ticket sales, a new record, and that they are expecting to sell out the Warrington and Saints games. If that is anywhere near correct, and the other initiatives come off, they could get very close to that 20,000 average they targeted a couple of years ago.

WEST COAST PIRATES NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_9857.jpg

In Oz you can sign your dog up as a club member! There are a wide range of ticketed and non ticketed options for most clubs.

Season ticket holders here are generally a much lower % of overall attendances than in UK. For example someone like the NZ Warriors will avg around 16k but ony have 4k season ticket holders. It is something they are trying to change and is slowly.
