I hope they stick with Welsh rugby league at grassroots level. The Crusaders have and had many issues but below super league and above in internationals things have been going verywell for Wales. If they abandon Wales now a lot of progress will be on done and they will just slide off the radar as has happened before.

I agree....big shame that the Crusaders are out of SL. They haven't been the most competitive team, but they offered the pathway for many young Welsh RL players coming through...now they will probably focus on RU or leave sport behind.

I think that if the RFL want a national game they need to be prepared to put as much time and effort (and money even) into the Crusaders (or whatever Welsh outfit is there) that they do for London. I'm a Quins fan and believe me it is needed if you're outside the heartland area.

I really hope that the next 3 years see ALL teams progress and actually fulfil their promises on new stadiums etc....as if we're in the same place this time in 2015 and teams still play in sheds etc then the RFL will need to make a drastic statement and kick out these teams or be left looking foolish.

If (as looks likely) the Crusaders don't carry on in the Championship next year, will they even bother to finish this season? I wonder if a factor in this is the continuing shennanigans with the soccer club and the doubts over the future of the Racecourse? Either way it looks like the beginning of the end for RL in Wales. Perhaps I'd better move to Yorkshire.

Yep clearly a succes, one team that chooses to withdraw its app because its not financially viable, 2 teams going bust during the season, Quinns on their and getting by with RFL help. Wakefield were promoted on the promise of a new stadium were they not? And how long ago was that, 13 years ago? They should count themselves lucky as once the Crusaders withdrew it should have then gone onto the remaining C grade clubs.

What more evidence do you need. A welsh club has never done more than one season in top flight without going to the wall. with the exception of a handful of loyal supporters, generally the welsh are not interested in rugby league. It isn't going to work in Wales, experiment failed.
