His wikipedia page states his first love is Huddersfield ( soccer club )
Could he be involving himself with rugby league to learn sufficient to take over from Ken Davey,at Huddersfield ?'"
Hull City were a wreck when he took over, he took them from the bottom division to the championship in a very short space of time and also made them a financially stable, realising he didn't have the sort of cash you need to back a premiership team, he sold them to a guy with more funds. The following season Hull City became a premiership team.

| Wow, there are some idiots on this forum that seem to have a very strong opinion based on made-up facts.
Anyone that says Pearson did nothing for Hull City is quite clearly a moron. Simple as. Taking Hull City from near relegation out of the FL to the Championship in the space of 5 years is nothing now apparently. Yeah, OK.
The second he came back to City, the first thing he did was make sure we got international RL back to the KC, so he's not just in it for the football.
Hull KR have more to worry about in terms of the Allams than Hull FC do. We owe the Allams nothing. Rovers owe £1m (the "gift" wasn't the money, it was the lending of it, and that it was interest free).
Whether Pearson is our saviour or not remains to be seen. He's only been here a day! But after 4 seasons of utter mediocrity and complete and utter spin from the BoD for too long, it's definitely worth the gamble. We have been going backwards for too long. Whether some Rovers fans want to admit it or not, Hull FC are one of the biggest clubs in the SL (A-grade license, best current ground in the league, 4th biggest crowds, one of the only clubs making a profit, one of the biggest turnovers). The fact we have a C-grade team doesn't over-shadow the facts of the club (if anything, it shows how big a club we truly are to sustain what we have with such a fire team). All the tools are there for someone with some intelligence to turn into on-field success. Hopefully AP is that man.

Kath Hetherington and the rest of the previous board did a great job sorting the club's finances out but it was clearly time for a change.
The Hetheringtons link to Leeds was always a concern albeit sometimes exaggerated. I'm glad it's in the past now, anyway.

By 'sorting the finances out' do you mean the merger with Gateshead Thunder? If not it is a bit too early for anything else; let's see what Pearson uncovers on the financial front!

You're quite the nitwit, aren't you?
The merger sorted out nothing, or have you forgotten the rather large debt that FC had until a few seasons ago? That debt was removed through the efforts of the BOD, as was putting the club into a modest profit for several successive seasons.
And do you really think that Pearson failed to carry out due diligence before purchasing the club?
Deary me.

No, I meant making us one of only two profitable clubs in Super League who turnover £1m per annum in merchandise alone and who have sold 10,000+ replica shirts in each of the last six seasons. The sort of club who don't need a £1m soft loan.

and the only club that class there players as assets to cover the cracks of mounting debt and its not a loan read the following link be used for stadium improvements and strengthening the playing staff.

| I'd suggest its a new coach and recruitment officer they need more than a new owner! For a club in profit you remain e on the field year after year! Time to spend some of that profit maybe?

| haha, enjoy Pearsons fiscal abilities, what was City's debt when he ran them? At least Auntie Cath kept a tight hold on the purse strings to ensure her returns, even if it did mean mediocrity.

It's like talking to a brick wall.
Allam said at the time it was a "soft loan" i.e. long term and interest free, but it's still a loan. He used that phrase on Radio Humberside and in the press. Feel free to think of it as a donation if you must but don't start crying a few years down the line when City are struggling and he wants his money back.
As for Pearson at Hull FC, he has the cash to invest money into the club and I welcome it. I'm not naive to think he's here for the love of it but I'm optimistic about his plans.

I do not disagree about the new coach comment, the problem was Kath & Co clearly never saw this and their focus was on financial stability and credit to them for gaining that. I suspect now the financial stability is in place our new owner will want to take us to the next level of becoming a consistent team who can compete against the best like Wire, Wigan, Saints, Leeds & Huddersfield, I have every faith that our new owner will achieve this and I am sure unless Agar miraculously is able to deliver this he will be replaced rather quickly.

City were debt free when he left.
