Are you Leaguefan in disguise?

Forward passes are being missed in all games but that is not my gripe the penalising of Foster for what was a great tackle was a disgrace, the number of ball strips that go unpunished is a joke(why do we pay toch judges) & not one penalty for incorect play the ball or walking off the mark yet penaltys for not square? take a look at the NRL this year & see how the ruck should be policed. It was also rough justice on Fosters kick that hit the crossbar. I think a penalty for that is harsh to end up defending you line is extremly harsh I know its the rule but maybe a handover on halfway would be an equitable result?'"
Agree with you on the moving off the msrk and scrappy play the balls. It seems that in the desire for a faster and faster game, these things are totally ignored.
The crossbar one was tough. the inconsistency is highlighted further when kicks are aimed at the posts from which advantage can be gained. I can't remember ever seeing that happen before.
Surely has to be on 'Crossbar Challenge' on Soccer AM next season

The ball never bounced on the ground from the kick, it hit the crossbar and still went out on the full, so a penalty was the right decision.
He had at least 34 metres of space either side of the sticks to put the kick, so just because he hit the crossbar, why should they not be penalised.

| The number of forward passes in the game these days is shocking. I know the game is faster and the referee is ten yards away and not in the best position to see them, but surely the now they are wired up the linesman can tell him in a instant. Or even easier, every time Sinfield throws a pass just assume it's forward unless the touch judge tells him otherwise?!

| The linesman can tell him but the linesman might not have always seen it!

You are of course correct, but if you head high tackle you are penalised at the place you hit him not 50 meters further down the pitch to me a miss placed kick is not as serious as a head shot, plus a kick out on the full is only punished by a scrum from the place a kick is taken. the only other way to save the problems is to take the posts out ofr the field of play as in the American game.

| He would have still hit the bar if they used the same posts as NFL, freak kick so whilst a penalty seems harsh we'd land up with another 30 rules to try and account for it happening again.

How many times?
There is no such thing as a linesman in RL.

The offence took place on the halfway line - where he kicked it from. Take kicking out on the full in general play; the scrum/handover takes place where the ball was kicked from, not where it landed.

Pretty pointless post.
I'm sure everyone on this forum knows that the touch judge is often also be known as the linesman.
