| I enjoyed the game ........ a proper game where teams had to work hard to create gaps rather than the basketball we so often see.
Yet again, when it came to the crunch, Lockyer produced that little piece of skill to win the game.
I would love to see Lockyer go out with another whitewash and make it 6 in a row.

| Good game. NSW really should have won once they hit the front. Very soft second try for Queensland as well.

| First of all it was a cracking game.
I thought alot of the 50/50 decisions went for Queensland, player tackled in the air, ball been stripped with more than 2 men in the tackle(in which John Wells claimed he should have secured the ball better), plenty of extra time in the tackle. Just a few small things that could have changed the whole game if these decisions had gone the other way.
NSW defence was superb, especially Pearce, through his body on the line numerous times. Queensland found them tough to break down and two of their trys came from kicks, though the try by Slater late on was a well worked play. Scott was outstanding for NSW, for me their MOTM.
With the players missing in their backline I always thought it would be tough for them to gel straight away but they had so much ball and territory they should have finished off the game around the 60 min mark. Mathew Scott was outstanding up front and Boyd put in some huge hits on Gasnier in the backs. But once again Lockyer shows up at the end with some magic, came up with the right decision because he had options on both sides of him.
Roll on game 2!!!!

| Just wathced the game having taped it this morning. What a game. The two stand out performers for me were Matt Scott for the maroons (we think that we can match the Aus in the forwards if nowhere else, well having watched this he is on a different planet, in a different solar system to Graham et al) and Greg Bird for NSW. I think to win the next game the Blues need to get the ball in Sowards hands more and possibly have a link at full back to increase their creativity (despite Duggan having a good solid game, he could possibly move to the wing) so i'd go with Hayne. Id go for Farrer at hooker with Ennis coming off the bench again.
I can feel a final game decider coming on.

| I thought it was a pretty average match, which is what you would expect for a trial game for an international team that is neither the World Cup nor 4 Nations holders (because of that how on earth the commentators can say SOO is the ‘biggest stage of all’ is beyond me)
State of Origin has really lost its edge for me, it plays out like a good quality NRL game whereas it was so much grittier in the 80’s and 90’s
As for the players – from both sides, only Lockyer, Smith and Slater from those two teams would get close to the best Origin line ups
