| If I was in the UK I'd go. Think it will be properly competitive and I think the Exiles will be up for it.

The Exiles won't give it there all seems to be the popular opinion of the anti-Exiles brigade. They're professionals (and have been some of the best in the world at some part of their career). Do you not think they might want to be a part of history? Do you think they'll want to be part of the first Exiles team to lose? Or even get hammered? I'm sorry, but it is a desperate excuse.
Players will get "injured"? Why wouldn't they get "injured" before the France game? If they're "injured", they wouldn't be available for selection in their SL club's game that weekend anyway because they'd be "injured". Again, another desperate excuse.
Then there's the "it's disrespectful to the French" milarky. From what I've been hearing, we're apparently playing them before the 4N anyways, so we're still giving them a game. France are massively disadvantaged during the season, with only one club to draw from. Also, France still have the option to play Wales instead (why do they HAVE to play us, and why do we HAVE to play them? Why don't we HAVE to play Wales? And why don't Wales HAVE to play anyone?). Again, another excuse.
Some people don't like the idea that they're not a "proper" representative team. That's fine. If that's you're opinion, I respect that. But don't make up a load of bullsh*t to go with it. To me, it's not a case of "proper rep team" vs "made-up rep team". It's a case of "predictably boring walkover game" vs "unpredictable result". For me, it's the latter every time. I watch RL to be entertained, and I couldn't give a stuff what others think about certain games so long as I'm being entertained and following a team that I have allegiance to. Whether that be Leeds Akkies, Uni of Bradford, Leeds Met, Cottingham Tigers, Hull FC, Yorkshire, England, GB or whatever. As long as one team means something to me is enough, and the more competitive the game is likely to be the more interest I'll have in it.
It may be different for some others, and that's your opinion.'"
Good point, well made, sir!

| The more I think of this game, the more likely I am to go. I want to see England and I love Headingley. I havn't been there since the Yorkshire-Lancashire game when Neil Turley scored for Lancs.

| If it had been on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, I might have gone but 8 p.m. on Friday night isn't possible from where I live in mid-Wales.

Why is that?
Is the last horse drawn carriage forbidden to leave Newtown after 6pm on a Friday in case on the road to England evil wizard Pwyll Ap Gruffydd appears as a peasant and tricks the passengers into stepping into a magic bag, agreeing only to free them in exchange for 3 portions of chips and a sparkly Welsh cowboy hat?

Just because you don't agree with something doesn't mean its an 'excuse' could call the points you have made 'excuses' with just as much validity calling someone else's opinions bull s*it just because they disagree with your own makes you look pathetic.
If you think that someone will put there body on the line for a made up gimmick as much as they would for the country that your opinion, for me it sums up everything that is wrong with leagues fans attitude to the international game, if players dont view internationals as the pinnacle of the game and put more effort into internationals then we may as well quit international league altogether and just become a club sport. The whole point of international sport is that players should be giving there most committed performances when they play for there country. The exiles may be bothered abut this game and may want to be part of history but that's a different kettle of fish to the pride of representing your country.
The players are more likely to get 'injured' before this game because it doesn't mean anything and clubs are less likely to want to risk there players for a gimmick than an international, if you tell a player to not play for a gimmick he will accept it, you tell a player not to play for his country and he will leave the club when his contract is up as no player wants there club to stand in the way of there international career. Whats more the clubs were only affected before by players on england duty (or for cats france duty) now they are losing there best english and overseas players, for something less important.
Anyway you have got your wish and this game is going to be played, probably for a few years at least, and you can choose to go and watch it, i choose not to and will save my money for going to watch cas and 4 nations games all of which actually count for something.

| Voted no, not for the same reasons i am against this game (it does disrespect the international game, it is pointless, and it takes away our limited ability to produce a more credible international game)
I voted no simply because im not that bothered about it. There is no rivalry, nothing is won so there is nothing to lose, and i just dont care about beating a gimmick side. Also I can see these players playing in a higher intensity, higher quality game every week.

Really? Because they don't play a Barbarians team every year do they? That's all this is, but in Rugby League.
Some people would rather whine and moan than get behind a positive idea, and it's this that's holding Rugby League back.
