As I said in the other thread. Maybe this is something the RFL could look at.
"I went to the wendyball last week Wales v England and it was nice to see that it was packed out with families for what is a high risk game.
They did it with this www.faw.org.uk/news/2088 and reducing prices. I paid £15 to watch this."

| Quote: Durham Giant "Now start trying to replace those three and see what sort of competitive team Wales can come up with. At least if we were looking at GB for overseas tours two of those three may have been available.
We would be better with a French barbarians ie 13 french players plus 4 invitation players to make them competitive. Still keeps the core of the french international team but makes them competitive'"
Carvells played for Wales before, I refuse to believe that Rhys Evans is English! He should be the icon of Welsh RL. Kieth Mason replaced by Jordan James/Aled James. Not as good, but still replaceable.

So basically you want to introduce Franchising into International RL
The Welsh Qualified by beating the French , you now want to re instate the French

No i want International RL to have some credibility, forward planning and credibility. I accept Wales and they have to play this year but the idea that any of the home countries can compete with the big 3 at the minute is laughable and discredits RL.
Back to GB for tours thus providing an incentive to home nations players to stay with the home nations ( i doubt Wales would have qualified if mc ilorum, bridge, prescott and Harrison had not gone English), , until then there is no reason why France could not play an invitational side it has a lot history and international credibility( RU does it all the time), Home nations when at home, build up French RL so that it can survive on its own a second French SL team ( when ready) consider a unified celtic nations team for the 4 nations at home ( again providing an incentive to players and improving the international set up.
The celts will not be able to be genuinely partake in high level international( competitively) RL without at least two proffessional RL teams and a good amateur league to back it up.
International RL has to be the PRIORITY for RL in this country for it to develop.
That will take time and planning and if some artificial means have to be used to maintain it for a while then so be it.

Emmitt is playing out of his skin at the moment. He is a better 2nd row than Bracek or James and has been playing 60+ mins a game.
It doesn't look a bad squad. I would like to see them play PNG in a warm up game.

Looks like it could be Eng V Aus, NZ V Wales
Eng V Wales and Aus V NZ would be a far better option.

Agree, I saw Emmitt at Leigh last year and for me he was a better dual reg signing than Blythe, Mitchell and McCarthy.
He played at prop for us though and I havn't seen him in the back row for Cas. The only game i've seen of Cas' this year was the opening game when he was in the front row.
Good looking pack for Wales that.

| I hope this Poll is correct.
Like someone said we can get around 100k for all the games in one weekend, if 74% of those attend then we will obviously get a great crowd.

Why though? The cost?

A bit of creativity by the RL marketing team could sell it out. Yet I doubt they would.

| ill go. Two top level international games, Wembley is a fantastic stadium to watch live sport in. Im not going to complain because i have to travel for a couple of hours and they have only given me 7 months notice.
It will be fantastic.

| All RL fans who possibly can should embrace this and snap up tickets. What a day out - 2 RL internationals in an awesome stadium. Ok, so it's not 100% ideal - perhaps Cardiff is better for facilities - but this should be a fantastic event with a packed house.
I have no doubt my club will discuss options for putting a trip on, and if that doesn't happen I'll be making my own plans. In fairness I'm fairly fortunate that I have family in Beaconsfield, dead easy to Wembley from there.

| Hopefully the RFL will be able to gauge well in advance how many rugby league fans are coming down from the heartlands and then make sure that the stadium looks full.
In 2008 the Guinness Premiership rugby union final added 22,500 to it gates from the previous years, and this game had hundreds of tickets at £10 through ticketmaster when bought months in advance. The RFL always do the right thing on making the match day tickets affordable to all, and it seems appearance of a vibrant international game will trump profitability but hopefully we will market the game to the British public, not just making the heartlands decamp and come down to London for the weekend.
I think this has double header come from the RFL and the international board rather than SKY, but if the ticket sales are not stellar, why not look at giving away a few tickets through SKY rewards, or give them a small reduction. This would probably be taken up by rugby league fans and the idea of giving away free tickets may remind many of the England vs Australia game at Twickenham in the opening game of the 2000 RLWC where many just didn't take up the tickets because of the torrential downpour on gameday.
It is possible to make Rugby League look like it has a vibrant international game; Briers, Tomkins, Marshall, Slater; get these guys in an advert and make the British public excited about the interesting egg-shaped ball game.
Rugby League. The best kept secret in London. The RFL has six months to get this sorted.
