Please dont say its hard to get to the Stoop. Ive been doing it from the home counties for every home game. There are very regular 20 minute trains from Waterloo to Twickenham, and its a 10 min walk the other end. By car its 10 mins off the M3 coming from the M25. Any RL fan in the London area saying they dont come because its 'hard to get to' is a liar.

Agree 100%, but it is the main reason rolled out on these boards as to why ANZACS don't come to games.....

Been down in Sutton , Surrey today ( first time darn sarf for a job in over ten years ) doing a survey , customers was saying that in his words " RL was becoming very popular down there " , albeit as a summer months ' fill in '

His son had recently been to oz and was amazed that league was so big ' down under ' , I was explaining how in NZ it was the opposite

Although it is a bit of a P in the A to get to Twickenham 'The Moon' Stoop from the Hammersmith/She Bu/ Willesden/Harlesden areas of London the main reasons Barry McKenzie never attended a Harlequins RL game were;

1. The team were very poor.

2. No one ever turned up and there was no atmosphere (hence 'The Moon' comment)

3. Harlequins have never had any half decent Aussies that any Antips would want to come and watch since the days of Jimmy Dymock and Dennis Moran when the club was the Broncos.

4. They don't sell VB.

5. I've never heard of any of the players.

6. 80 mins watching Quins RL would be 80 mins of my life I would never get back again.

7. The replica kit is foul and it would induce Glaucoma into anyone foolish enough to part with £45 for a jumper.


If these 7 points were addressed I would deffo have gone along.

Sadly I wont be here in sunny London next year to go along even if I wanted to... but even if I was... I wouldnt.

And I dont know anyone else who would either
