We're coming to make some noise!: |

| I want to know why people think Cooke's try should have been disallowed? Cooke was holding the ball close to his body, not reaching out to put it down but holding the ball as he should be. Manu reaches around Cooke and places his hand on the ball, the ball comes free in a 1 on 1 tackle then Cooke lands on the ball in the in goal area which in my rule book is a try.
I too was a bit perplexed at first with the offside call against Yeaman as he was making an attempt to get back on side but as it has since been stated if he is offside at the ptb he isn't onside until the next play.
Hull were poor against Wakey but then Wakey were poor against Rovers so week to week you dont know which teams are going to turn up. The derby should be interesting because Rovers are full of confidence yet Hull are out to prove they are better than what they showed on Saturday.

| Quote: Matty_HullFC "Because Yeaman was in front of the play of the ball. It looked debatable on the telly but the lines-man seemed adamant so fair enough on the call but when the hell do you ever see something like that given? Where's the consistency?
Also enjoying how despite at least half of the PTB's not been played 'correctly' only select ones get called up. The ref swung the game. He first gave the penalty for not playing the ball (which again is fair enough as long as they do it consistently), then Wakefield take one drive, play the ball as bad as Tansey, then Cooke goes over and knocks the ball on... Great refing.'"
Agree with you Matty, in our set of 6 from that pen Rich Moore (if i remember right) played ball in exactly same way Tansey had, but played on and we scored just after.
Yeaman try was disallowed for him being offside- in frony of ptb, but technically could have been disallowed for incorrect ptb.
The games a joke when 3/4 through season they decide to tighten up on 1 thing.

You missed the bit out where Manu's hand was still on the ball as it was grounded, before Cooke dropped on it, therefore it should have been a drop out.

Standing up to the forum bully.
It must be working, he doesn't like me...i'm devastated: |
|
| It was certainly the most boring first half of rugby league shown by sky this season..and the second half was only marginally better.

If both attacker and defender ground it at the same time it's a try. To me it was Cooke's body and Manu's hand at the same time.

So Manu knocked it out his hands but Cooke's body was still touching it? When Manu knocked it out Cooke's hand, he also grounded it, Cooke's body dropped on it a split second after, re-watch it again and you'll see what happened.

Actually I'd suggest that the first half of the Hull vs Wakefield game that Sky televised earlier in the season was more boring.

| Maybe you have a point, a drop out may have been the order of the day however with benefit of the doubt going to the attacking team I would have to concur to my earlier post and say a Try should be awarded. I would also suggest what an earlier poster said and a Try would have been given and no questions asked had it not been on Sky...well until All the Tries show!!!

| I'm sorry, but there's no way in this world that Paul Cooke grounded that ball with control. If that had gone to the Video Ref, it would clearly have been chalked off. Whether it was knocked on, stripped, or whatever I aren't sure. But it certainly wasn't grounded correctly.

| But the ball can be grounded with any part of the upper body, doesnt have to be the hand it can be your belly for all the officials care.
If the ball was stripped one on one then Cooke lands on it with his stomach its a try. However as I've watched it again it does apear that Manu when he stripped the ball also grounded it before Cooke managed to ground it, I do not see this being simultanious either and do think a drop out should have been awarded.
