kcab sfrawdder Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg

I really don't get this, perhaps somebody could explain. I thought Bailey was Leeds' best forward tonight, unfortunately he left his niggley A game (which, lets be honest, that's his job) at home until the game was lost.

Bailey is a brilliant Pantomime villain, who actually gets through an incredible amount of work. Good old fashioned prop, ran hard and strong tonight and looked to lead a pack that got dominated.

quote]

Bailey has/had the potential to be the best British prop forward of his era , unfortunatley he prefers to be a cheap shot merchant who then goes hiding when he knows retribution is likely to be heading his way

Well to be honest I was shocked when I saw in yesterday's paper that he was starting (e.g. because of his inexperience), but thought he handled everything great. icon_smile.gif

One of the things we've been knocked for since been in SL has been our dependency on overseas players, but to be fair the young English kids are gradually coming through, e.g. another good performance by Watts tonight. eusa_clap.gif

Good to see a certain 'Charlie' Cockayne getting press for all the rights reasons. Always looked a player going places when we had him at Donny, just needs to channel any aggresion in the right way. Thought he had an outstanding game last night.

I think the general idea is that whilst all our first team centres are out injured, he'll play for us and hopefully help us win a few games. a046.gif icon_wink.gif

You've certainly been hit hard there with Walker, Webster and now Welham and Ratu out. The two guys who played there last night Charnley and Cockayne did a fantastic job.

Ben's always been a good player. Always gives 100% and can pretty much play anywhere across the backs and even hooker or halfback if pushed. He's a perfect example of an invaluable squad player that every club needs.

i know its going off the subject of playing terms but i though it was a poor showing by the leeds fans only 60 miles down the road and they could not take more than 500 people to say there the champions and have great home attendance very poor

Charnley had a solid if unspectacular performance (which was always going to happen), he put an early mistake behind him and put in some very good tackles - notably Hall on the Leeds line and Smith when he hit the gap. Looks a good promise and confident player - with a nice sidestep.

Thought it was Rovers' best performance by a long stretch last night, the effort and desire in the defence was outstanding. The game was played at a very fast pace from 1st till last aswell.

That Cockayne try at the end summed it all up, right off the training ground that one. Superb dab through by Galea who had yet another world class game. He could be a late runner for MOS, but honestly I don't think he's shown this form throughout the year, but we've always missed him when he's been absent from the teamsheet.

Great stuff.

Or perhaps most of us would prefer not to go to a complete dive to watch our rugby league?

We're coming to make some noise!:

Quote: Abbott Out "Or perhaps most of us would prefer not to go to a complete dive to watch our rugby league?'"

And you are the reason lower league rugby has such poor attendances. I have been to every ground in the National Leagues to follow Hull KR and I dont care if I have to stand on crumbling concrete like at Whitehaven or Featherstone or in the open air of Keighley with the rain pelting down on us, as long as I get to watch my team Hull KR putting in 100% (and to be honest it didnt matter if they didnt I would still be there next week) I will always follow Hull KR.

It is a shame there are not more people like this throughout the sport. It might be a bit of a laugh among the leagues about Rovers having millions of away supporters trolling up and down the M62 every couple of weeks but to be quite honest there are not many clubs that we didnt out number 2 to 1 or more when visiting.

Even now in the Super League the amount of support that was at Wakefield from us had to have been close to 2000 if not more and out of a crowd of around 6k nobody can say that we dont follow our team in great numbers.

As the earlier poster said it is a shame Leeds couldnt have come in bigger numbers, filled the North Stand and sang through the game to try and fire your players up. I guess being the champions' supporters is a bit like being the queen, only appear at special occasions or big events where the seats are padded and the rain cant get in!

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?:
