| Quote: Damo-Leeds "I love it how other fans soon forget that Leeds are the three in a row champions. If that doesn’t get teams up against us then what does?
I’m sorry but the only reason why Wigan are at the top of the table is because their not defending champions. Teams get more up to playing against Leeds rather than Wigan.
But no bad blood because Crusaders played well today. Mind you the same people who will be praising crusaders today will be slaying the amount of Aussie imports in Super League.
A bit Hypocritical?'"
The only reason we are top of the league is because we have won more games than anyone else.

so...he made a mistake with the number of years you've been in SL......was he correct with the rest of his post? Have HKR a bucket load of overseas players, or is that incorrect?
Pedants are only pedants when they can't find a proper response to a question.......and if you really want to be a pedant, the poster pointed out that HKR were looking to get a 10th Overseas player in 2011...which would technically be their 5th SL season........
So.......are you prepared to reply to the statement that HKR may well have 10 overseas players in their 5th SL season next year or would you rather pick up another, unrelated, inaccuracy?

ok not wanting to derial this into another bash HKR thread but...
He quoted it as if a fact, it was wrong, probably like most of the rest of the post.
HKR this year are not too different to majority of Sl clubs in regards to number of overseas players
the dispensation thing was a HDM story, there has been no official comment on it from club or RFL, till there is I will take it with a pinch of salt like all things HDM! and at the end of the day it will be the RFL's decision
anyway back to the post, well done Crusaders good to see you doing well on the field.

Quote: JB Down Under "probably like most of the rest of the post..'" ..if so, how many overseas players to HKR have then? Easy to tar the whole post with the same brush you allude to above.......exactly how many non-english players are on the HKR books and in comparison, how many other ESL clubs have more?
Quote: JB Down Under "HKR this year are not too different to majority of Sl clubs in regards to number of overseas players '" ...really? The Harlequins Team you hammered on Sunday is the most English team in the league....oh how ironic is that after 10 years of being called a team full of aussies .....I'm still none the wiser....exactly how many overseas players do HKR have on their books?
Quote: JB Down Under "anyway back to the post, well done Crusaders good to see you doing well on the field.'" .....agreed...although Quins nearly nilled leeds last year on their own patch........and come october it was business as usual for both clubs....one group of players on holiday, the others handing Saints their butts AGAIN. Well done Crusaders....I doubt you will make the 8, but you are by no means the worst team in SL....a great improvement on last year

| Well done Crusaders. Not sure where all these "whinos" are people keep mentioning. As far as I can tell most people are being rather pjilosophical about this loss.

As for the Crusaders beating Leeds , well , it's not unusual for a team full of Aussies to win on English soil is it , they are basically Gateshead Thunders mark 2 , and could quite easily go the same way as the original'"
The Crusaders squad (from a rough look an on certain encyclopaedic website)
consists of.......
Wales 10
Australia 10
England 3
New Zealand 2
Malta 1
PNG 1
Samoa 1
Make of that what you like. But ten Welsh players playing in the top division can only be good for their international side.

What does this say about the calibre of English Superleague teams when a newly formed side consisting of unwanted Aussies, old age pensioners and rejects from other SL clubs look like they might make the play offs???
Is SL really this bad?'"
Serious answer, no SL isn't that bad. What you have with Crusaders is Brian Noble, as a coach he has specialised in orchestrating Leeds defeats.

| Damo, did you even go to the game?
I was there. We were awful. Poor passes and dire ball retention was our main problem, as has been the case throughout.
Credit where credit is due though, well played the Crusaders, had an opportunity and took it well!

Very true - Brian Noble and John Kear are both examples of coaches who can spot the smallest of weaknesses in any team and then build up their own teams self-belief to a point where, more often than not, they win - what is inexplicable is why their respective teams cannot do it every week ?
Both Noble and Kear have enabled their teams to dominate Leeds at the play-the-ball over several seasons, move up quickly, get in their faces and don't give them the opportunity to throw the ball around, its really simple stuff but it works every time.

But according to other people on this thread [iWe were awful. Poor passes and dire ball retention was our main problem, as has been the case throughout[/i
So that suggests its not really down to Brian noble at all its down to Leeds playing badly?

Well obviously it's both isn't it.
Had we played as we are capable of, we'd have beaten Crusaders regardless of their gameplan and tactics. Simple as.
But we were poor and Crusaders, to their and Noble's credit, got it spot on.
Lets move on, bring on Wire.

You have got Warrington next week?
ah.........
If your team can't beat a side like Crusaders (at Leeds) then I shudder to think what will happen against a half decent side like Warrington
